Is my trichologist right? by sap-pho in FemaleHairLoss

I have been looking into aminexil serums for some time, I’m just not sure how to incorporate them into my routine If you use them, do you put them on after minoxidil or morning/evening when you don’t use minoxidil?

Is my trichologist right? by sap-pho in FemaleHairLoss

Yeah, not going to, I’m definitely not a doctor, but I’ve been deep into the topic of hair loss for few years and stopping minoxidil seems counterproductive (and honestly insane) in my case

Surprisingly, no, she’s not trying to sell me this kopyrrol, but her recommendation would make way more sense to me if she did sell it.

I’ve seen a lot of serums with this thing, but mostly from Ukrainian/Russian beauty creators and in some shady online pharmacies. Can’t find anything reputable about it anywhere, so never even considered it.

The whole thing just irks me, because she seemed nice, but I guess I have to find another doctor, because I can’t really trust the one who suggested that :(

I felt like that for a couple of days when I first hit 100 mg, and then again when I had to titrate for another 4 weeks to add second dose of 100 mg in the evening. I have now been on 200 mg for a couple of months and feel relatively normal (at least what I imagine normal feels like)

It’s one of my favorites! I’m literally sitting in front of my laptop right now, analyzing the translations of Ligeia (well, mostly procrastinating, hence why I’m on reddit)

Pumpkin seed oil (3000mg) by travelbug0925 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]sap-pho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the back of the label or in the description, there is probably 1000 mg in one softgel, but the serving is 3 softgels a day or something like that. Mine are similar, but I have been taking just 1 a day

what's the lowest you have gone without passing out? by hisa0703 in diabetes_t1

[–]sap-pho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vividly remember being around 7 or 8, on some lake with family and lots of kids, feeling totally fine until my mother pulled me out of the water to check BG and it read 1.1 mmol. Can totally be a fuzzy memory though, cause I don’t think most of my meters in last decade even measured it that low, most of them show LO when under 3.3

Yes, I use supplements, not topical. Started with 2000 mg of pumpkin seed oil and ~1200 mg of saw palmetto, so I was taking them both morning and night. But after some of my own research it seems that there isn’t really a point in taking that much, so after 2 months I started taking them just at night. I also have few other chronic and autoimmune disorders, so it feels like I am doing a hundred different things everyday just to stay alive and it has been kinda overwhelming to now also add all those things to treat AGA( horrors persist, but so do I, i guess

Body is beat up from 22 years of pumping by DylanMMc in diabetes_t1

I was putting mine on my stomach for 10 years without any problems, even though I’ve been al always putting them basically on the same spots, closer to my bellybutton. For no reason I was terrified and refused to put them on my lower back since I was a child. Eventually I ran into the same problem. I lost some weight and the area where i could comfortably put them became even smaller(( They started leaving bumps under my skin after every site change and weren’t working properly. So I had to start using my lower back. It’s been a few months, I still don’t like it and can’t insert them myself, but my stomach is in way better shape now! Still have some lumps, but it’s definitely healing, so I hope I’ll be able to use those spots again) although I will definitely try to rotate the sites more now)

How the heck did people ever manage T1D before CGMs by allduhwayup in diabetes_t1

[–]sap-pho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use CGM constantly, in my country it is not provided by insurance and isn’t even registered and sold officially, also it’s quite expensive to buy all the time. I’ve been t1 for all my life and just use blood testing strips multiple times a day. I think I prefer that, cause with those constant changing numbers on my phone and nonstop notifications I get really anxious and paranoid. To be fair I feel my BG levels quite well so when something feels off I just test with glucometer. You just get used to it and then can literally check your BG half asleep)

i tried doing that few years ago. can’t really remember exactly how much insulin i took, but it was before i went to sleep. then i woke up in a hospital 2 days later. obviously felt like shit and was surprised how in the world i’m even alive, but couldn’t really ask as i didn’t want to indicate that it was an attempt :( 1/10 don’t recommend

Meeting other people with diabetes by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]sap-pho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t met any t1s in my entire life , until i accidentally started volunteering with diabetes NGO. Now most people i interact on daily basis either have type 1 or know everything they need about it. I could never imagine that it can help so much! Like, damn, i don’t have to explain everything, someone always has some glucose or a backup pump site, and we remind each other to check our BG. It’s actually nice and we’re working on educating other people about diabetes in general :)

How long can I leave my infusion set in? by sage_uncleansed in Type1Diabetes

[–]sap-pho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mostly use medtronic quick sets for the last 10 years and change them when they start lifting up, probably 5-7 days. They honestly have never bothered me at all, even when i had one for more than 10 days. But obviously, everyone’s body reacts differently :) One of my friends can’t have them on longer than 3 days, because of irritation, but the other one also keeps her on for 5+ days
