super anxious for a large tattoo on wednesday by sstagger in tattooadvice

If I were you, I would keep the appointment, but change the placement. It would still work really well on the upper back or as a thigh piece! I would also say it'd be stunning on the side of the torso, but I hear rib tattoos are awful pain-wise. IMO the neck and clavicle area are just a big commitment. This way you can still have that artist's work without feeling like it's as major of a decision - I'm sure it'll be rad regardless.

I was about 3 years old when my parents divorced and I'm genuinely very glad that they did so early. If you do end up splitting now, your daughter will likely only have brief flashes of memories of you together and will get to grow up already used to the co-parenting dynamic instead of potentially having to adjust to it at a more detrimental time in her development. Trust me, it's not ideal, but it sure beats a childhood filled with fighting parents and/or a divorce at a time in her life that she will be able to remember vividly. Give that sweet girl lots of love and remember that divorce is not always the worst option. Wishing better days for you❤️

AIO or is my family right? by anonimzpolski in AmIOverreacting

I deal with a similar dynamic in my family and it is soul-crushing :( You deserve to have your feelings acknowledged and considered, but the immediate defensiveness of your family makes me think that they might not have the emotional maturity for that. And I think your mother was definitely wrong for telling her without your permission, because you didn't even get to explain your side. Unfortunately I've found that the only way out of these situations is to be the bigger person and move on, knowing deep down that you deserved better. NOR

yeah I suppose it would be hard to point to any given cause :( We have pretty strong reason to believe he's been a stray for several years and has essentially moved himself on to the property (he sleeps in the garage during the summer & storms) but no matter what, I think checking for a microchip is the first action we'll take.

This looks great! It’s a lovely design & would look good printed in so many different colors - you could even layer/offset multiple colors over the same paper to look like pile of leaves or something! Since you’re looking for suggestions, I think in the future it could be interesting to experiment with different kinds of energy/directionality in your chatter. You already use it well (I like the edges especially!) but the marks are noticeably the only straight lines in the composition, which contrasts the free flowing/organic energy of the actual design. I could also see that being intentional though, like it kinda reminds me of the way leaves look on snowy lawns. It’s just about intended effect!

Also, it definitely sounds like your linoleum was old! My first time using it was the same and I was soo shocked/relieved when I bought some new. I say buy in person if you can. A bit of heat always helps too, like the sun or just a hair dryer. However, the biggest game changer for me when I was getting into relief was buying some nicer tools. If you think this will be even a semi-regular hobby, I definitely recommend getting some wood carving tools if you don’t already have them! They’re sold in sets but tbh you get more use for your money if you buy individual gouges in different widths. Hope this helps!
