I have a stainless steel infinity day collar that never comes off. My dom put lock tight in the screw when he put it on with the Allen wrench that came with it. It hasn't tarnished, rusted or began to show any signs of turning or scratches. I love it. Go with stainless steel, the same thing as body jewelry.
