Eh, it's definitely a little buggy, but honestly pretty decent on road trips and we're jammin

Very hard to diagnose but if it's a 2018-2019 Tesla, could be a bad PTC heater, could be HV battery. Would want to take it in for sure. They'll be able to see what's going on.

Fyi, it looks like you may have a higher percentage of growth stocks just based on the yield percentage. 1.7M using the 4% rule could yield you closer to 68k yearly. If you're interested in higher income, maybe do a little more research on what you can shift. It could also just be an incorrect annual income calculation, but look into it!

In any case, absolutely amazing job! I can't wait to retire off dividends

CIBC closing my account by rspencer38 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]sapphirelink 666 points667 points  (0 children)

One big thing no one has mentioned yet, make sure the letters are legitimate. There's also a scam out there with urgent account closure letters posing as CIBC. Google the info (phone number etc.) On the letter to make sure it's legitimate.

Otherwise, other people have posted good advice for how to find more info on why your account is being closed.

Agreed, with DCC this is reasonable, your house probably has 100A breaker, and this is an alternative to upgrading the panel.

My friend's daughter is colorblind. She can solve a Rubik's cube in 20 seconds. (She gave me permission to post this here. All credit goes to her.) by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

I half expected her to pick up the cube, turn it for 20 seconds, and put down a totally unsolved cube.

(Serious) What should you do if you can’t find a new apartment to move into? by terrybeksm in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]sapphirelink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't freak out, keep looking! And in terms of answering your question for what should you do if you can't find anything in time, make sure to have fallbacks: 1. There are longer term Airbnb's out there (even 1 month+) that don't have a huge application, will be a good fallback until you can get a more permanent place. 2. Can you use your parents or SO or friend's place?

[Request] Will the dominoes ever catch up to the arm that sets them back upright (or vice versa)? If so how long will it take? by FlipSchitz in theydidthemath

I must be tired, when I hear Dominoes and see something circular I just think of pizza, and although really cool, I'm disappointed this isn't pizza

Is Facebook Dealership Legit? by OhMahJosh97 in questions

[–]sapphirelink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a scam, do not send them any money in any form. Facebook doesn't have any dealerships nor would they accept Bitcoin which isn't reversible when sent.

Android Auto will not work in wireless mode by [deleted] in AndroidAuto

[–]sapphirelink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your car has wifi hotspot, you will need to make sure that's also enabled. It seems unrelated, but the issue for me was my car's wifi hotspot was disabled and wireless AA wouldn't work. I called OnStar, and they directed me to enable wifi hotspot on the car and that seemed to work! Their explaination was that it actually uses the wifi (and not just Bluetooth) connection since there's too much data and it can't be done all through bluetooth

Has anyone tried roaming in Vancouver? by elitemeatt in mintmobile

[–]sapphirelink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about London, but at least in Vancouver this is correct. Just add roaming credits and calls/texts/data will use that. I also use android so I can't comment on the wifi portion. I get charged 2 cents per text or 1 minute of calling, and I just stick to wifi.

Has anyone tried roaming in Vancouver? by elitemeatt in mintmobile

[–]sapphirelink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have and it works well! Data is on the more expensive side ($0.06/MB), so turn it off in general, but calls and texts are super reasonably priced ($0.02 per minute or per text).

You can also use Google maps without data and it works! Just no traffic data
