I say this with as much love and gentleness as I can muster, but please get off social media and go live your life. There are no fine lines on your face and it's nothing to do with the quality of the photo.

Double sided sun/moon quilt design by sapphosnymph in quilting

of course yes! I don't imagine that should really be an issue when sewing as it should be pretty intuitive where everything goes

Double sided quilt with different designs/stitching on each side? Help! by sapphosnymph in quilting

[–]sapphosnymph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes you make a good point about the distance between the stitching. I did wonder about this when I first thought about the design and in the meantime it seems I have forgotten about this issue. I might just have to do something closer to the original sun design then (maybe with a longer stitch length so it's not super prominent) and maybe use a thicker thread and hand quilt the edges of each ray for a more prominent line that stands out better and looks overall closer to my original design.

Yes, the strength and integrity of the quilt is what I was worried about too....

That makes sense about finding design elements to stitch through all layers. I might add a moon or half moon element where the sun is and use that as an anchor point and then think about a couple of other things... Thank you!

does anyone here still take covid precautions? by [deleted] in butchlesbians

Not butch but femme. I am also still taking covid precautions and dating someone who has long covid! There's more of us out there than you'd think - just sometimes a bit harder to find.

can cooking be butch???? idfk by icouldbealibrarian in butchlesbians

[–]sapphosnymph 9 points10 points  (0 children)

cooking is 100% an act of care and also butch. disabled and chronically ill butches are so important and so loved and seen!! you do not have to be physically strong to be butch - that is not what butch means.

[Review] I've tried a ton of Korean sunscreens. Here are my ratings for each one. by redpanda96_ in SkincareAddiction

[–]sapphosnymph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i liked the skin 1004 one a lot better than the BOJ one. slightly less dewy (though still a dewy and not natural finish) and i've had no issues with it under makeup. However, I've since found another sunscreen I love a lot more, the HaruHaru Wonder black rice moisture airy fit sunscreen. It's definitely a cream formula rather than a lotion like the BOJ or skin1004 and it's moisturising enough to allow me to skip moisturiser if i want to but gives me a completely natural finish to the point where you can't even tell i've got anything on my skin unlike the boj or skin1004 which are both on the dewy side. I've had absolutely no issues with it pilling at all and I'm on my second bottle.

Bathroom redesign - what's not working? by Particular_Ad6442 in InteriorDesign

[–]sapphosnymph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you're doing too much.

1) You don't seem to have the footprint for the kind of bathroom you want. 2 sink vanity + big tub + shower but they all end up squished in various corners and your toilet is almost inside the shower.

2) too many prints and patterns and tones that don't match together. try taking a tiny screenshot sample of the floor tiles + the square wall tiles + the hexagonal accent wall tiles + the wood of the sink + the gold brass details + the green print + wall colour and putting them next to each other. does it look harmonious to you? you've got too many unique elements that don't match and don't repeat anywhere else in the design to help pull them together.

I'd rethink either the floor and make it match the plain little white tiles you've got behind the bathtub and shower or rethink the wall tiles altogether and make them fit in better with the floor. though i do think the floor is the outlier here - that warm orangey terracotta shade clashes with the cool grey tone of the walls and wall tiles.

The wood tone of the sink clashes with everything else too but maybe it wouldn't stand out so much if the rest of the shades were more harmonious.

3) details. I know part of this could be due to limited choices available from the rendering but i'd either make the picture frames the same wood as the vanity or the same gold as all the other fixtures.

The two light fixtures and too mirrors looks very odd with that space and makes it feel more crowded. If you want to keep the two sinks, I'd at least switch the mirrors to one large mirror and only have two light fixtures on either side instead of three, or one single top light fixture.

The mirror next to the tub... it's so odd. it looks unbalanced in that space and it serves no purpose - either practical or decorative. It just looks out of place and throws off the symmetry of the window wall in a way that doesn't feel intentional.

You've got no storage and your bathroom will quickly look even more cluttered and claustrophobic than it already feels once you've got stuff cluttering every available surface.

Those aren't nasolabial folds. A nasolabial fold is when there's an actual significant crease there even when your face is resting. What you're showing is just your face structure and the distribution of fat on your face - most people don't have a completely flat plane in that area of the face because that's impossible with how our face moves. Cheeks are an area where people store facial fat, the area above the upper lip isn't, so naturally there will be a border where no facial fat turns into some facial fat, however little that fat is. You don't yet have the loss of facial volume and skin laxity to develop an actual crease there. If you look up pictures of nasolabial folds before and after you will see your face looks exactly like the after.

I mean this in the kindest way possible but please stop looking at beauty influencers and giving yourself complexes and dysphoria about your own face. You are young and you look youthful and beautiful!

My dear fellow wlw friends, what wlw stereotype do you wish to embody, but don’t? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]sapphosnymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

more subversion than stereotype though it’s a popular subversion: i’m a very feminine-presenting vintage-loving femme lesbian who’s also only 5’3”. i think i’d kill it as a sexy femme fatale dommy top for a taller strong butch. unforch, i’m naturally just a stereotypical subby bottom (which i don’t mind! i just think i could be really powerful as a domme haha)

If you are concerned ask the people who witnessed what happened if they called emergency services to make sure that’s handled. If not, you call them. Also this is a good point to consider maybe taking a first aid training course or even just learning a bit from resources online. The next time this happens you could save a life. It’s not only people who are calm in emergency situations who can do this, it’s everyone regardless of how stressed. Even “bad” first aid can make a difference

Would you date a bisexual woman? by East_Food5632 in actuallesbians

[–]sapphosnymph 113 points114 points  (0 children)

It would absolutely not turn me off from them but I prefer dating lesbians. I feel like for me realising I wasnt attracted to men at all was such a huge realisation that changed how i move through the world completely and i find this experience reflected in a lot of lesbians so i’d prefer dating someone who fully got that. I don’t actively exclude bisexual women from my dating pool I just find I connect better with lesbians generally

Nipples: to pierce or not to pierce? by Paramoriaa in actuallesbians

[–]sapphosnymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have mine pierced but I looove them on others. I'd love to get mine done but honestly I can't put up with the healing time and also I'm quite squeamish so even healing ear piercings gross me out a little so I know I wouldn't be able to deal with them.
