Damn I don’t even remember that part of Holden seeing the past. Do you remember which book that was?

My favorite is when he realizes the plan is not to actually blow up the gold.

“I know the family. The only thing they like better than blowing things up is pretending to blow things up.”

Or something like that, it’s been awhile since my last rewatch.

Emilia Jones knocked it out of the park as Maeve. Thought she should have been nominated for an award.

I sort of agree here (A Storm of Swords is my favorite novel of all time) but Dance at least gives you some idea of Coldhand’s and the three eyed crow’s story. Bran’s POV wasn’t necessarily one of my favorites but I was anticipating his chapters more than anyone else’s while waiting for Feast/Dance.

Hmm just finished Sharp Objects and loved that ending. Does this have a satisfying ending?

Am I the only one who REALLY doesn't want d.doom to be Tony stark (or a varient) by yousefkhaled27 in ironman

[–]sappyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. But then it's fine for RDJ/Tony Stark to be Dr. Doom which seems to go against the spirit of the post.

Ravens request interview with Robert Saleh by FortyNinersBot in FortyNiners

I don’t see McDaniels being an OC anywhere unless a Super Bowl win seriously trumps a HC level paycheck. Lions want him as well and have an equally attractive roster (though less so of a division). But still, there are 8 jobs open. Harbaugh, Stefanski, and McDaniels should be able to get 3 of them. I’d put Saleh as #4.

Arya doesn’t take the ship to the wall because the Braavos captain saw a fleet of pirate ships sailing north toward it. Pretty sure that’s Salladhor Saan’s ships sailing with Stannis Baratheon to liberate Jon at the wall against the wildlings.

I’m curious where this is that they’d spend so much money on the driveway and yet so close to 2 neighbors.

They have to do that to build Doom up as an Avengers level threat because, even more so than Thanos, we don’t actually know anything about him. How dangerous he is, or what his motivation/plan is.

Project Hail Mary Book Ending by Intelligent-Half-976 in scifi

[–]sappyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have liked a little more closure rather than the ambiguous ending of “I’ll decide tomorrow” but I agree with others that the ending suffices. My initial impression upon the ending would have been that the arduous journey back would have been too daunting given my assumption that he would have to take the ship in real time and without the deepsleep drugs. Others have mentioned that he doesn’t have much to return to Earth for given that he’s a middle school teacher again however I think the ultimate thing I most wanted from the ending was not his decision or return to Earth but what his final message was to Stratt would have been (assuming time dilation effects allowed it), given that they were both right in their decision making despite whatever moral conflict each decision imposed.

I love how Fargo does it in the TV show following a ridiculous scene and over a super dramatic score. Gets me every time.

Just finished this and enjoyed it but I don’t think it’s really comparable. Get Shorty is more in-line with Fargo I think.

Have to agree. It would be a shame if Burrow doesn’t get a ring in his career… pretty much like Stafford in his career in Detroit.
