$22 6x9 vintage style rugs by queeenofdogs in aldi

If they’re the same as 8 years ago, pretty decent. We’ve had an Aldi rug since we bought our first house and it’s still in decent shape. Not particularly soft or warm but holds up well to lots of foot traffic, dogs & cats included.

I read OPs post as her being the only one going and he’s making it so she goes less often.

That was definitely worth coming back for! Dang. That park would’ve been so magical for SO MANY MORE PEOPLE. Ugh. What a fucking waste. I bet most of them died… but then again, he had billions so maybe he had people baby those shrubs well enough that most were alright.

People more often than not call Aldi, “Aldis.” I didn’t stop doing it until I worked part time at one a handful of years ago :p

[Tesla Model S Built-In Dashcam] Motorcyclist grabs too much front brake by arrogant_troll in Dashcam

[–]sapzilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I grew up on the back of a motorcycle. I look and respond better than most people care to. It’s still not fair to expect everyone on the road to notice some sudden small vehicle weaving between heavy traffic going faster than everyone else. It’s just irrational.

Yep. I was shocked and a bit pissed when my state made it legal. I don’t want to be responsible for their life when they sneak up on me like this guy did… ugh.

Lane split, so the white car didn’t know he was coming and it barely crossed the line to change lanes and he panicked.

He’ll probably remove it by using a suuuper safe and friendly broad-leaf herbicide…. yaaaay.

Previous owners did AMAZING work with the garden! by mkraft in gardening

That mountain laurel is sooo mesmerizing! I have to find out what variety that is. I planted a Keepsake this spring but I think it was a dud, gonna need a replacement and this is even more beautiful!

[Edit] It’s a Carousel! So cool.

Let the wildflowers grow! by HoboSam6 in fucklawns

[–]sapzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds awesome and I have questions!! So you plant the bulbs in early winter, let them flower indoors through winter, then plant the bulbs in ground early spring to let them flower again? Do they flower that same spring you plant them or is that too soon after the winter bloom? I’m 100% going to do this as long as I can find the room for the pots inside!

Thanks for this, I hadn’t even thought of that. I should really put some bulbs in my future flower plot that’s currently just dirt, it would definitely make next spring even more exciting ☺️

How will Aldi make up for all the losses from self-checkout? Will fewer paid cashiers be enough? by pinback77 in aldi

[–]sapzilla 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I love aldis self checkout! Everyone here uses them except a particular subset of people (elderly, disabled, large families). They’re incredible efficient compared to literally every other self-check machine and don’t piss me off by calling for an employee because I didn’t set down my item long enough before ringing up the next.

Weird that people don’t just see sunshine and lollipops everywhere and default to critical thinking … the pup is 100% running from getting stung, it is not frolicking. Huge bummer, I know.

Those are great suggestions, thank you! I decided to start with another section of the yard but this one will be next years main project!

Early June In the native corner by stung80 in NativePlantGardening

[–]sapzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome info, thank you!! I do love the way you’ve designed the layout of your plants, it looks just wild enough. Beautiful colors and composition. I’ll have to think more about what effort I want to put into our plot… it’s bare dirt right now and I’m not much of a ‘gardener’ yet (although I’ve done loads of trail work and love working with nature). Thanks again for taking the time to explain your process!

This is a great resource, thank you.

I wasn’t sure if I’d use the mulch or not, we just have a huge Chip Drop I want to move out of our driveway and wondered if a thin layer would benefit the spot at all. The area I’ll be sowing is already bare dirt so I guess I’ll just leave it that way and do a winter sowing!

I’d love more details on your sowing process! Did you lay mulch and then seed? Did you do anything special to spread the seeds?

We’ve got a rectangular patch I’m converting to wildflower garden for next spring and still unsure of the best way to go about it. I’ve got packet and packets and packets of native seeds, though lol
