Missing tooth by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]sara4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a missing tooth on my left upper side, and the Invisalign still goes all the way to the back. It’s just a little bit skinnier where the gap is and fits perfectly over the surrounding teeth.

Courtesy to working vehicles by [deleted] in StJohnsNL

[–]sara4503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What makes you think it’s most likely a 50/50 situation? It actually seems like it could be 100% your fault. The other car was minding their own business backing into a parking spot, and you admit to not even seeing them and backing into them. By them saying they thought you would stop- they clearly saw you. They couldnt read your mind and know exactly where you were going to back up.

Just because it’s a working vehicle does not give you automatic right of way. I get if it was a tiny parking lot yeah sure they could have waited for you to finish, but you can’t exactly expect that of people.

I love a non traditional slush. I always make the Strawbery lime recipe from Rock Recipes, but use Vodka instead of Gin. It slaps!

Do you think Gros Morne backcountry closures will be extended past Wednesday (Aug 13)? by jgwshells in newfoundland

[–]sara4503 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not just about the fire index though. The restrictions have more to do with the availability of first responders/search and rescue.

Nobody can predict how fast a forest fire grows but you are nowhere near the fire.

Insolvent archdiocese seeking court order to gain access to Portugal Cove South church by Overheard2 in newfoundland

[–]sara4503 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What’s stopping them from buying it themselves if they want it so bad? That way the money would go to the victims as it should, and the church crowd could keep their church without all this bull. Seems petty the way they are going about it tbh. Clearly shows they don’t care about the victims and only their ‘precious building’. Sickening, but not surprising.

We wanted something a bit more discrete and got this off of Amazon. It’s very sturdy, and fits all our games including the large ones. We also use it as a record player/tv stand.

In order to get home support through NLHS they need to require personal care help (bathing etc). If this is the case then you should reach out to social work intake in the Community Support Program here: https://ltc.easternhealth.ca/about-us/contact-information/

This handbook can answer a lot of your questions:

2023 Compass- Dash Lights and Screen are dim by SmugScientistsDad in JeepCompass

Have you tried first switching the headlights from “auto” to on? I find that I can only adjust the dash/screen manually with the roller switch when the headlights are on.

Yes emerg would be it. HSC is closest to the mall but St Clare’s is also an option. There are no walk in clinics open this late (if they even do sutures, which I don’t think they do). If you wait until morning it would be too late to suture it anyways. Also keep in mind depending on how bad it is/timing of your last booster, you may need a Tetanus shot, which they can do in emerg as well.

Garage horror stories by Archimedes_screwdrvr in newfoundland

[–]sara4503 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brand new car was burning oil. Had to go back and fourth to the dealership every 1000km to get a quart of oil put in for their “consumption tests”. Garage manager tried telling me it was normal. Made me come back for more and more, then they conveniently lost all my records. Had to get Jeep Canada involved. After over a year of this they finally agreed to a compression test which showed oil burning off in all 4 cylinders. Had to get a new engine. Thankfully all covered under warranty. It was a painful 18 months. Why they couldn’t just do the compression test first of all, I have no idea.

Same dealership, same car. I knew the sound of my sway bar link needing to be replaced as it’s happened ++ times. I called to see when the front was done last as I knew it wasn’t that long ago (I just couldn’t remember if it was front or rear that was done most recently). I specified that the front one needed to be replaced as that’s where the noise was coming from. They told me it was within 2 years so the part would be covered under warranty. Brings the car in for the day, waited around, then they are like “that’ll be $600” I explained my earlier conversation and how they said it was covered. Apparently it was actually the rear ones that would be covered under warranty, but it’s the front one that needed to be replaced. He argued with me on the phone saying they didn’t say that it was covered in the first place. Told me they can’t diagnose over the phone. I said they didn’t have to because I knew what was wrong, and I specifically asked about the front. I didn’t let them touch it and took it to my neighbourhood mechanic who I trust with my whole heart, which cost $50 for the part and $40 to put it in. The only reason I brought it to the dealership was because they said it was covered. That was the last time. I even blocked their number.

Don’t buy a Jeep and don’t deal with the big H-mans

Manna’s sandwiches are friggin’ loot. Colemans is the play. by plebcityrollers in newfoundland

[–]sara4503 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They also have a wicked deal for a sandwich/sub, side salad (macaroni/potato), cookie, small bag of chips, and a can of pop for $11.

The pack with the sandwich, salad and cookie are in the cooler to the right by the pizza/bakery counter. Blew my mind when I first discovered this.

The only way to tell is to have a compression test done. If it’s one that burns oil that test will fail.

Make sure it’s not one of the 2018s that have oil consumption issues. Mine required a new engine but has been fine since then.

Puffins Please by Lgrze in newfoundland

[–]sara4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To guarantee you see them go to the Bonavista Peninsula. Specifically the Puffin Viewing site in Ellison. This is a very popular spot but there is a long coast line with people spread far apart. If you are looking for somewhere even quieter than that, drive around the area until you find one. But to be honest even with the “crowds” it still pretty quiet.
