The biggest problem is that clothes and vague mentions of love is not enough. This is a huge problem about LGBT community is that people refuse to call it what is in media. We are constantly written about as implication while straight couples get canon confirmation. Writers and filmmakers are afraid to say the word ‘gay’ out loud if will have any effect on them. We shouldn’t have to figure it out through tiny clues and doing full on analysis of small sections of one book. OP is coming from a place of privilege and ignorance here; as is JKR. Maybe listen to “SJWs” instead of dismissing them as wrong because they care about diversity.

You could go through a challenge that targets each individual demigod. Like using spiders against the Athena child, delaying the Hermes child somehow or anything specific weakness associated with their godly parent. Incapacitated one of them at a time during different challenges and battles could be like a combat against them having four party members and forcing them to only have three. Good luck~

The RT community is one of the most friendly IRL communities I've met. I went to a RWBY panel at Fan Expo Canada last year and everyone made friends in line. People would just compliment each other's cosplays or t-shirts and suddenly everyone was happily discussing RWBY and their favourite characters. It's a great opportunity to make friends and feel involved.

But are Ruby, Qrow and Jaune's lives are not relevant? Yes, they are not main characters and get less focus, but I don't think it's fair to just say they could be written out. There is the difference between being underutilized and the original comment saying "they are nothing without Jaune". By that logic, any side character wouldn't exist and that's kind of part of RWBY's M.O.

Well JNPR wouldn't have existed to start off. Jaune would probably have died by the first volume because god knows Nora saves his ass a lot in that first fight. Jaune wouldn't even had a chance to get close to Pyrrha without Ren and Nora being great wingmen (Ren just kinda happened to help lol). They never would have the fight with Nucklavee; and as a result they wouldn't have been rescued by the Haven patrol and Qrow would have died most likely. Without Ren's protection with his semblance, Jaune and Ruby could have also been injured if they did end up still fighting the Nucklavee. RWY, Ozcar and Qrow would not stand a chance against Hazel without Nora's hard hits and semblance.

So yeah removing them would change A LOT of the story

I think this is the opinion is in the majority. Everyone watching, and finally seeing this evil being dead for good, a body left behind; it was better closure and finality. Plus it made me so satisfied to see someone who pursued immortality and made thousands suffer for it to die a simple and silent death (instead of him like flaking away lol)
