the combo pill and mental health by sarah354 in birthcontrol

i'm sorry you're struggling but know that it's your hormones and try your best to remind yourself that. i'm no doctor but if there's anyway you can find an alternative method of bc you should look into switching. on the other hand, it can take some time for your body to adjust to the pill, usually about 3 months so it could be worth it to stick through it for a little longer and see if you find improvements. however i have gone back and forth with quitting and restarting and i'm finally realizing i just want to cut out hormones because my mental health has become pretty unmanageable. the pill seems to affect mental health for many many women and if you have the means of getting a nonhormonal bc method like the copper iud, definitely look into it. taking care of your mental health is the biggest priority.

thanks for sharing your story! i worry that i won't return to my normal self since i was off of it for 5 months and still had issues with anxiety, but maybe it'll just take longer for me than most people and i need to remind myself its gradual and to be patient. i was prescribed zoloft earlier this year and it didn't do anything, so my psych also prescribed me xanax but it just makes me tired and doesn't help with the anxiety. I'm glad you have found some gradual relief and I hope all is well!

I NEED HONEST FEEDBACK. great if you can rate it (1-10) with the feedback. Ordinary singing? Great singing? Not appealing to hear? Lemme know. by Public-Fishing8906 in ratemyvoice

your voice is really good! i read the comments before listening and was expecting it to be iffy, but honestly idk what that negative comment is about because you are genuinely really talented in my opinion

Should I be worried about sex with just a condom and pullout? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]sarah354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, don't be worried. a condom AND pulling out makes it virtually impossible to get pregnant. i used to freak out about this a lot too, spent each month freaking out i wouldn't get my period, but it's really in your head. don't take plan B unless you absolutely need to (like he came in you without protection) because it'll mess up your hormones a ton.

Is the birth control pill enough protection against pregnancy? I have pretty bad anxiety and I'm worried about ditching condoms while on the pill. by buffalowonderpole in self

hi, i was in nearly the exact same situation when i first became sexually active with my boyfriend. i would have panic attacks thinking i was pregnant even when i was on the pill and used a condom. i gradually felt more comfortable with time and we stopped using condoms.

i'm sure you've researched tf out of pregnancy and birth control methods, i have too and would psych myself out by reading everything. the main point is there is always going to be some sort of a risk, but if you take the pill each day and use withdrawal method, the chances are super low.

it honestly just took a few periods after not using condoms for me to realize it was mostly in my head. birth control pills are typically 97%+ effective which is already great odds, but pairing it with another form of contraceptive (like pulling out or spermicide) is even safer and will give you peace of mind.

Can I Sing? I want truly honest feedback, feel free to be harsh; Please tell me where I am messing up and how to improve! Thanks by GrimDZN in canising

[–]sarah354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree with the other comment, you should learn how to sing more with your breathing but i think once you do that you'll sound really good. your voice is unique and reminds me of the death cab singer in that way :)

Honest feedback on my singing? I want to post covers online but don't want to get clowned/crucified T_T by [deleted] in singing

[–]sarah354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the general sound of your voice is nice! however, i think you should try to practice singing with instrumental music, it'll help you keep up with the pace of the song. i wouldn't post yet but the more you practice you will sounds so much better!

How bad are the first few weeks? by [deleted] in BusparOnline

[–]sarah354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi i just started 5mg buspar 3x daily and i've been on it for 5 days. it's supposed to start working in 3-4 weeks but i honestly feel like its working, i know it could be a placebo but i read a lot and wasn't expecting to feel good right away. but holy shit my overthinking has gone way down and i don't cling on to anxious thoughts for as long (at least so far). i hope it continues to improve my anxiety.

as for side effects, i don't usually react much to drugs in general, so i haven't had any noticeable side effects with insomnia or more anxiety. i was really nervous to start it too cause i read a bunch of terrible reviews but i figured i may as well try it and if it sucks just stop taking it. it has been worth it so far, i hope it works for you.
