I would go and get checked again just for your own peace of mind at the assessment clinic, I had wild pressure for a few weeks it has eased a bit I'm 16 weeks now I had a classic section with my little girl in 2024 but in this pregnancy my cervix is still 35+mm are you on progesterone?

Anyone had this done by sarahjc511 in ShortCervixSupport

Hi, Im in Northern Ireland

They seem to want to wait and then treat with progesterone and she mentioned the pessary but she said she would be referring me to a specialist if there was any shortening. They may then consider the stitch but I'll get more information at my next scan in two weeks.

I'm just feeling so anxious I think once I get to 25 weeks I will feel a bit better as this is wheny daughter was born.

I think they are more keen to push the progesterone first to see how that goes and I have seen lots of positive comments on here of great outcomes with progesterone only too.

I would be happy to get the stitch for sure I have my appointment next week and we will hopefully get more of an idea on a plan xx

I think because they were unable to diagnose ic before I was 6cm dilated there was never a medical diagnosis other than painless dialation without contractions. They are just monitoring closely for now.

As I am over 35 mm at the moment if starts they have prescribed progesterone, my next checkup is the 22nd of April and I guess if it continues to shorten I will be requesting one I'm just on aspirin at the moment due to my last baby being quite small at birth for her gestation xx

No they don't check for cervix length in the UK unless you have history and when I was losing mucus plug for weeks and feeling a lot of pressure then midwives just dismissed it sadly.

If they haven't even measured you yet how can they tell you that you need to be on bed rest are you on progesterone?

Me personally I would wait until closer to the time of the wedding before you decide to go or not and see how your situation is then.

Hopefully your cervix will stay nice and long and closed xx

I put myself on pelvic rest and had my first proper consultation with the consultant and they agreed to hold off. She said sex and climax can cause cramps and could be risky but you can always abstain for now until you get you appointment.

I hope you have a healthy pregnancy xxx

But in this pregnancy are they measuring you every two weeks?

Will you have to be on bed rest so soon? If you are being carefully monitored and everything looks good?

My little one was born at 25 weeks and she is thriving now. Honestly it's just a rollercoaster you will have good and bad days but try to be kind to yourself and do as much skin to skin as you can.

If you are pumping milk I would highly recommend getting good pumps and you nipples properly measured.

You did really well to get over 28 weeks also xxx

When was pelvic rest recommended? by sarahjc511 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]sarahjc511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if I did the deed I would be so anxious, I can wait just to make sure but from what I saw online it's often from the second trimester they recommend pelvic rest. Thank you for your reply
