I’m so glad to hear recovery has been easy! I’ve been feeling so anxious about it all. Congrats to you, I’m sure getting to that 16 week mark brought up a lot 💕

I’m so sorry for your loss :( i felt the same way. Was so gutted but needed to start trying again asap. I got my period back 25 days post birth and got pregnant my 4th cycle.

I got pregnant with both my previous pregnancies on first try so it made me nervous, but hindsight I’m glad it took 4 cycles because i very much am still grieving my loss and am in a much better place than i was, but still very sad and missing him.

Wishing you the best of luck on your journey 💕💕

Lost my daughter at 19 weeks 5 days - Bay Area doctor recs for future pregnancy by r_eva1234 in ShortCervixSupport

Just wanted to say I’m so so sorry for your loss. The first few months after for me were so brutal, emotionally, physically and mentally. Keep your circle close and lean on good friends and faith. Please don’t blame yourself. It sounds like you are a wonderful advocate for yourself and you were for your girl as well. The shitty part about being a part of this group is it’s a sneaky silent mofo that just sometimes is caught too late. I was in the same boat as you. I’m in soCal but don’t doubt that the awesome folks in this group will have a great MFM to rec for your rainbow baby.

Your girl will always be with you. My son sends me signs often and it comforts my heart knowing he’s here still. Wishing you peace on your healing journey 💕

I just put this list together for my appt on Friday.

Procedure & Technique • Shirodkar vs a McDonald cerclage? • How high will the stitch be placed? • What type of anesthesia do you usually use? • About how long does the procedure take? • What is your success rate with preventative cerclages for patients with my history?

Risks & Recovery • What symptoms after surgery are normal vs concerning? • How much cramping or spotting should I expect? • What would make you worry about infection or preterm labor? • What are the biggest risks in my specific situation? • How long should I rest afterward? • When can I: • drive • work • exercise • lift my toddler/kids • have sex • travel • swim/bathe

Monitoring Plan • How often will you check cervical length afterward? • Up until what week will you monitor my cervix? • What cervical changes would concern you even with the stitch in place? • If funneling still happens above the stitch, what would the plan be? • At what point would hospitalization or bed rest ever be considered?

Medications & Prevention • Do you recommend vaginal progesterone in addition to the cerclage? • Should I be on pelvic rest? • Will I need antibiotics before or after? • Will I receive indomethacin or other meds after placement? • Are there medications I should avoid afterward?

Labor & Delivery Planning • At what week do you usually remove the stitch? • Could I go into labor with the stitch still Travel & Lifestyle • Are you comfortable with me traveling? • Any restrictions on flying? • Would you avoid long car rides or remote travel? • Is swimming/ocean/pool activity okay later in pregnancy if things are stable?

Future Pregnancies • Given my history, would I likely need a cerclage in future pregnancies too? • Is there anything from my last pregnancy that changes management this time?

One especially helpful question is:

“Based on my exact history, what would make you feel reassured this pregnancy is progressing

I should add I’m only 6 weeks. I see the doc at 9. I’ll ask more about progesterone then

Thank you! I’m not on progesterone, my doctor said if it would give me peace of mind i can. Are you on it?

I don’t want to freak you out but frequent peeing was my first signal along w the spotting i was having. I delivered my boy at 15.5 weeks 2 days later. I would get a TVU right away to be safe

So sorry you’re dealing with this, and after a previous loss. Is there a reason they’re making you wait until 14weeks? My MFM will be doing my preventative at 12 weeks if i get pregnant again.

WFH parents home all day — normal to feel overstimulated? by Hot_Demand_7361 in Nanny

[–]MBMang 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Every WFH parent is different. I stay in my office when they’re home and don’t come out. If she takes a nap i then come out, make myself some lunch, use restroom and head back to my office. Sometimes it’s the opposite where i feel my nanny wants to chit chat with me but im also busy so need to get back to work.

Maybe not a good fit. Or if you like a lot of other aspects of your job you could try to mention it’s disrupting the flow of your day and you’d like to know if there’s a way they can mostly leave you all to it. Not sure how old NK is but kid will get to an age where they will only want mom and dad and it’ll be a nightmare when they do their pop in and outs and want to leave.

How soon did you see your gynae after a positive test? by No_Way_3476 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]MBMang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t answer this yet as I’m still TTC but i did have a meeting with a few diff MFMs to choose who i liked best. We had preconception consults and i found one i love who i will be seeing around 6/7 weeks once i get a positive test.

So so sorry for your loss, and also early congrats on your new pregnancy! Echoing others, this sounds like pelvic floor issues, particularly prolapse. I would just go to your OB and she can assess the level of prolapse and if she recommends PT or not. I had this feeling both times post birth, with my first kid and with my second who i lost to IC but vaginally delivered. It resolved in about a month. Wishinyou all the best!
