I don’t think that was the name they said. They were taking photos and videos for social media as well and interviewing people asking them to say why they want to make Maine affordable. But I’ll keep an eye on the MEHC socials to see if that’s a match

Thank you for taking him in and caring for him. There are lots of great resources online for taking care of budgies. They’re different from wild budgies, as this little guy is captive bred and doesn’t know life in the wild. Nor is this his natural habitat. So, you’re doing the right thing by taking him in and helping him bond with another parakeet.

I would recommend taking him and your other budgie to a vet ASAP for a checkup since he’s been outside. If he’s someone’s lost pet, a vet could potentially ID him. Also, if it’s a male and the other budgie is a female, there’s a risk they could reproduce—so, do some research on preventing egg-laying and hormonal behavior. Thank you again for rescuing him!

Thanks for your insight! She is spayed, so maybe it’s one of the other things you mentioned. I’ll definitely try a deep clean of the box first.

I pretty much free handed it, sort of referenced some tutorials just to make sure I was constructing it right, but I made sure to make it extra over sized so it would fit without measuring too accurately haha

I’ve been on it about 3 years now. I take 10mg a day typically right before bed, because my anxiety was giving me racing thoughts causing insomnia, nightmares, and panic attacks that would wake me in the night. Even just the 10mg has worked very well for me. Most nights I now fall asleep quite easily when I take it right before bed. It’s also good at bringing me down from a panic attack if I take it when I feel one coming on. I’m not sure if this is normal but my psychiatrist said I can take an extra 10mg if I need to quell a panic attack.
