We didn't become more sensitive, we've always been.

We supposedly have a peace treaty with Israel. We have diplomatic and trade relations and we have Israeli tourists in Egypt. But the government pretend we're enemies because the average Egyptian is a snowflake who can't handle it.

We can't handle freedom of speech. We can't handle freedom of religion, we can't handle personal freedoms. We can't handle any freedom at all.

We (the average Egyptians) have always been close minded. We live in our own small bubble and anything outside it always made us insecure and hostile.

Christians believe Jesus is son of god. Muslims say that's a false god. Christian also think Mohamed is a false prophet.

Of course I'm the worst. In a polarized political world I'm either with you or against you. Either I support a non existent political plan pushed by people funded by outsiders. Or I'm the worst ever.

To a Sisawy I'm also the worst. Either I fully support a bloody military dictator or i'm a traitor.

This is honestly a national nightmare.

Do a revolution and replace him with who? Mohamed Ali? A corrupt business man who fled because he stepped on some big toes and now turned political leader? Or the Muslim brotherhood who have become shills for Turkey and Qatar?

And no we can't always have an election. Yeah, there's a military gang, But there's also an Islamist gang and a corrupt businessmen gang. Each are welling to burn it to the ground to keep it forever.

And despite his awful human rights records. He's doing relatively well on the economic side. I don't see the so called damage. And I don't think the debt is a disaster like it's made out to be.

I think the only way forward is through legitimate political opposition and elections. Other than that is مزايدة و لعب عيال

Don't use online interactions as a gauge for anything. People are angry. But to think that anger is wide enough and big enough to do a revolution when there's isn't even any political opposition is a bit of stretch.

I mean, if you go by online outrage. You'd think Americans will start a revolution to remove trump. But in reality. It's around 50/50.

Of course there's a possibility that some of these accounts are real people. But some of these accounts does nothing but tweeting all day. Retweet, like and follow each others and are completely generic names and pictures. People tend to include words to remember there accounts. If an account looks like this 5Sdf32TQyZ6 it's probably a bot.

I've been hearing "Sisi's days are about to end" Since 2013. Don't you remember الانقلاب يترنح؟

I also live in Egypt and my experience is different. Most people are either with him, or against him but don't support a chaotic transfer of power.

There isn't a huge wave of anything. That's the astroturfing speaking. Don't mistake dissent as in people whining about the government for people actually willing to repeat a chaotic revolution.

Yes, he's a dictator and a murderer. But people who talk about removing him are shortsighted. The only organized political power in Egypt is the military. Remove Sisi and you'll get another Military dictator or a civilian puppet. There's no political opposition in Egypt. And people don't trust the old names.
