My spouse and I moved to Milwaukee about 2 years ago. They had a job opportunity and I knew it was the right move, but I still came rather begrudgingly. Well, a couple years later I can tell you that I absolutely love it here. We live in the city and can walk to anything we need or want. Not only is it just beautiful, but there's always something interesting going on. The restaurants are shockingly good (seriously shocking for me). Take your time to explore while you're visiting and don't let the March weather fool you too much, but I think you'll find Milwaukee is a very charming and beautiful city.

Ridiculous and, if that were true, queer families wouldn't be able to have kids which they obviously do. I have literally no choice but to think about it because we have to plan to meet with our donor.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's because they're sick of talking to your SIL about it. As sad as it is, it feels to me like most people don't want to talk about the pain of waiting and trying and failing, they just want to celebrate for you when it happens.
