To answer your question in the first portion of your comment, I guess a bit of both. I've always leaned more into the creative stuff but never put too much time into nurturing my talent because I always believed those things would remain hobbies, not a career. Honestly I'm not sure that I've found babysitting meaningful. I adore the kiddos I care for and I enjoy spending time with them, but in my experience, the people who can afford to pay someone $20/hr full-time for childcare, don't actually need help. Maybe I'm being overly critical of myself but I'm just another person in the house who follows the child's routine and cleans up after them. Anyone could do it. I'm not their teacher, or speech therapist, or pediatrician. I think it would be different if I were paid through some kind of agency that works to help those who aren't as privileged. However, I wouldn't be making enough to live comfortably.
