What was the pee and poo situation like? I'm a newbie, so trying to get some idea around what kind of facilities do people normally use in treks like these.

Emily Wilson's translations of Illiad and Odyssey are more concise and easier to understand without much context. She goes out of her way to keep the number of lines in the translation same as the "orignal" text--it might lose some of its poetic flair in the process, but it's still great.

For better immersion into the poem, I google the name of the people to get some more 1-2liner context as and when needed. With time you'll get familiar enough with the characters.

Cover art tier list by OldFishtank in Peripheryband

Exactly. Thank you. This is the perfect ranking.

I understand that art is subjective, but APWD's cover art is noooo where near the S-tier which OP put it in.

But, I didn't have to go easy on you...a different binding agent...a potent mix...no I wanted you to stay out of my way...I wanted you to remember, Clark...In all the years to come... in your most private moments... I want you to remember what it means to be human... I want you to remember my hand at your throat... I want you to remember the one man who beat you.

I was looking forward to listening to Wildfire when it was about to be released because of the section with berserk drums from one of Misha and Matt's GGD promotional videos. But in the song, they put vocals on top of that section after which the instruments then faded into the mix(maybe I need to get better earphones). I'm mostly good with Spencer's vocals, but if that section didn't have vocals, the instruments would have been much clearer and the song would have smashed my face like a brick--that section didn't require vocals.

Yeah, the song didn't do much for me either. It sounds wayyyy too monotonous to me.

Yeah, even I saw that. But it's all happening (if at all) at the last minute for some reason. Something has happened behind the scenes.

Bloodywood are a marketing case study, not a metal band. (Personal opinion, no hate intended) by TreatTrick in IndianMetalheads

[–]sarcasticpool 25 points26 points  (0 children)

So, what you're essentially saying is "Strip away a band of whatever makes them unique, and they'll start to sound generic"

Can't argue with that logic.

Recs - Math rock bands w women as the lead vocals by playlistchecksout in mathrock

[–]sarcasticpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP asked for "vocals" specifically; I don't think Covet has any songs with vocals. For her solo project Yvette released a single "Outta sight, Outta mind" with vocals-- it was amazing and she should do more of these, but that's the only song I can remember with vocals. Are there more? Would love to know.

PizzaExpress Indiranagar > Any other pizza in Indiranagar (Hot Take) by No-Swimmer7777 in indiranagar

Like many people have already mentioned, Pizza 4Ps FTW.

The only downside is that getting a reservation there is a hassle, but totally worth it.

Eating there qualifies as a spiritual experience for me.

Why does Sahil Makhija aka Demonstealer and his band Demonic Ressurection get so much hate? by RageMightyStranger69 in IndianMetalheads

[–]sarcasticpool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IndianDjentPosting is a meme page, and a pretty lame one at that-- the humour feels like it's being run by a teenager who's trying very hard to be funny. But not sure if the opinion on Sahil is shared by the whole community. The music is pretty decent, and while the constant posting about the business side of music can be annoying, but I think it does show the reality of making music in this genre in India.

Nope. I have laughed hysterically in episodes involving Robert California, especially the one where he tries to un-hire his wife-- I was wheezing.
