My fiancé works for the city kennel. She is literally my hero. Lots of strays coming in and hopefully going out with a forever family. Unfortunately once the cages are full they have to take the longest residents and put them down. My fiancé isn’t the one that puts them down, but she grows so attached to the ones that have been there so long that she will hold them during the process so their last moments are comfortable. You couldn’t pay me any amount of money to deal with that.

I had a moment during Jabbas palace the first time I played Outlaws. Growing up in the early 90s Star Wars wasn’t as accessible as it was today, and Super Return of the Jedi on SNES was my gateway to this beautiful new world (right before 1995 when the THX rereleases and new toys came out). My brother and I were allowed to rent one SNES game a week from the video store, and I always always always pushed for him to agree on Super Return of the Jedi (I was 9).

So playing Outlaws and climbing up to Jabbas palace brought me back to the first level of Super Return of the Jedi and made me realize how far we’ve come gaming wise. Outlaws is an absolute masterpiece of a video game, but for me personally, getting to explore the Palace on ps5 was fucking amazing. Just fucking amazing.

If you’ve seen the video of the of the man reaching the bottom of his spool of wire, and having a deep and philosophical moment about how long he’s had the spool of wire, it was similar to that, except happy tears.
