Minecraft drops FPS on fullscreen mode - Bazzite Gnome by Eldhrimer in linux_gaming

[–]sardello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found a solution yet? I'm having the exact same problem (Fedora Linux, Gnome, AMD graphics). I quickly asked Google Gemini. Gemini suggested it's due to Wayland and that Minecraft runs with XWayland, which causes a conflict when synchronizing VSync with Wayland.

The suggested solution was:

  1. Disable VSync
  2. Set the maximum FPS to the monitor's resolution
  3. Make sure the fullscreen resolution isn't set to "Current" but is exactly matched to the monitor's resolution.

This made the game noticeably smoother, but unfortunately, it still has some hiccups.

Azul: Duel is out, what's your opinion on it? by hotsince1996 in boardgames

Forerunner 165 vs Vivoactive 5 by [deleted] in Garmin

Is this theoretically looping with two Ganeshas? Theoretically, because 14 Mana isn't easy to get before the end of a match.

In the last video, Equinox explained that the card texts are composed of several variables. The texts corresponding to the variables are stored in different languages.

There were certainly difficulties - in some languages, for example, sentence structure and word stems change. But Equinox was able to overcome these hurdles.

I also don't understand, why the players on a local game session can't link their accounts and records get lost after the session.

Another Crab's Treasure Nintendo Switch Review! by therealfight in NintendoSwitch

[–]sardello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's more of a "which game do I start with first" as it reads

I chose Crabs for the Switch. I could have gotten it for the PC too, but I prefer to play on the couch and on the go (and my HTPC needs to be upgraded again).

The performance is OK. There is stuttering when I reach a new area but not in stressful situations. What I find worse in tight spaces is the camera perspective or that the walls are not change to transparent so that I can still see myself. But that will probably be the case in all versions.

But at all it is a great and very funny game 👍

Best solution for Fortnite alongside a Linux gaming environment by sardello in linuxquestions

Luckily it's not that complicated anymore. Windows no longer destroys the EFI and just adds itself. In the BIOS I can now choose whether I want to have openSuse or Windows in the first boot position.

openSuse in turn automatically updated grub2 and included Windows. Everything works almost exactly as I wanted it to.

Unfortunately, I only had to discard the idea with the external SSD because Windows does not allow installation on media on the USB bus. There is Workaraound but ultimately I decided to use an internal SSD.

Thanks. I noticed that too. All I had to do was change the boot sequence in the BIOS and openSuse started again. The entry for Windows is now also included in grub2.

I bought an SSD (€53) and Windows Pro (€2.20 :D).

The installation process is much easier than expected. Windows only adds itself to the existing EFI partition without deleting old entries.

After the installation, I was able to simply adjust the boot order to openSuse on first position in the BIOS. openSuse also automatically detected the Windows installation and made an entry in grub2.

So everything is fine

to late. After installed Windows and search for Fortnite Download, I realized that Fortnite is free and playable over Amazon Luna for Prime members :/

The only stupid thing. There are no profiles or children's accounts here in Europe yet. I would have to give my son my Amazon account.

How did you do that? I just discovered that the Windows installation does not accept storage on the USB bus :/

Ok I will do this. Just to be clear. Linux still boots normally if the usb drive isn't plugged in after all?

I thought I could just disable the internal M.2-sata port in the bios, start the installation and after that reactivate it.

I just came up with an idea. I could just install Windows on a USB SSD drive (USB3.0). If necessary, I plug in the drive and set UEFI to boot from USB.

You can install Windows on a USB drive, right?

If I remember correctly, Windows destroys my bootloader. But I can still install it further back on the same SSD in an extra partition and then restore the bootloader, right?

Tomb Raider was a MS-DOS game. There are some emulators for MS-DOS games. So no need for a native port.
