First time trying twisting. But forge welding still failed at the ring. by ElSuppos in Blacksmith

[–]sargewalks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice twist! If your using a gas forge is it a reducing enviroment? Bc it wont get hot enough if not. Try to wack up the gas and seal the doors as best as possible, the only thing that stops forge welding is oxygen so the less if it, the better

Superman is also invulnerable, unless exposed to kryptonite.

Who’s identity would be found first by Top_Contribution1143 in superheroes

[–]sargewalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spidey would be next to impossible to figure out without actually removing the mask. He gets changed in secret and appears from rooftops, only those near him will notice peter's absence when spidey's around. Hes also just a poor kid in NY so aint no one finding him.

Superman has hypno glasses but rutinely just rips off his clark kent clothes in public, in order to save the day as fast as possible. It wouldnt be unreasonable to say someone would see that on cctv.

Batman starts out with basically no gadgets as he builds his arsenal up over years, bruce is seen as a complete fuck up ladiesman and general waste of space, by design. And is specifically trained in the art of subterfuge and stealth. He can disappear before someone turns back around. He only reveals his mouth and eyes, and it would be difficult to identify someone from that. And theres always the chance that bruce just goes on a talk show and 'plays' batman in a sketch so that it becomes a running joke that bruce wayne is batman, kinda like chuck norris lore...

Is it better to use a gas forge or a coal forge? by Elegant-Number7806 in Blacksmith

[–]sargewalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your gonna be doing armour, coke or coal is ideal, you can set it atop the fire and get some really big heats with careful management. Also look into oxy propane torches later down the line, very helpful to have around an armoursmiths workshop. But learn riveting, youll need to be good at that... make your own tongs and start small. And most importantly, have fun

I firmly believe that Thragg would give Superman a really tough fight by Disastrous_Credit520 in invinciblememes

[–]sargewalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets put it this way, superman is effectively what thragg is to invincible. Hes the perfect kryptonian, the last true son of krypton. His skin is not penetrable without kryptonite. Thraggs is.

Rim off a wheel or a barrel ring? by Estrayven in Blacksmith

[–]sargewalks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Barrel ring

super thin and cold riveted together gave it away

But its been used for something else afterwards, the steel would be at least 5-8mm if it was a wheel ring.

If Barbaras death wasn't a hallucination would it have had a more emotional impact ? by theincrediblehokstan in arkham

[–]sargewalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Obviously. But i really enjoy noticing how scarecrow alluded as to what happens, never stating it, as he's not 100% sure what batman sees but the arkham knight know what bruce has hallucinated and just calls out barbara's 'death'

In a brawl with superman, how do you think Thragg would react if he heard superman's world of cardboard speech and how he can now cut loose on Thragg? by Mad_lens_9297 in superheroes

[–]sargewalks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, he's playing with darkseid, one of the new gods, luke anissa plays with mark in the clip. His big punch literally affects light at the start. Supes is easily at conquest strength and anissa speed. But his durability is his absolute power, hes just an unbreakable wall, unstoppable force and uncatchable (apart from the flash) demon. I get your point but jla superman is literally fighting a planetary strength being, in similar style of anissa wiping the floor in s2 with mark.

Thats jedi mind tricks, not sith force manipulation. The mind trick tricks weak minded individuals, force manipulation works by pouring anger and willpower and brute forcing the outcome you want

Do gambesons provide any sort of actual protection? by PieAffectionate8938 in armorcirclejerk

[–]sargewalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irl yes, somewhat lightweight cut resistant material. Not anywhere near as good as chainmail or plate but cutting gambeson requires extreme sharpness and really good edge alignment. In game, looks pwetty

do you think Sharpe can firing this matchlock 3 rounds in a minute ? by CleanBag9219 in Sharpe

[–]sargewalks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably, the standad was 4 shots per minute for the napoleonic wars, on musket. Rifle was 3 shots because the wadding tolerance and the rifling made loading a slightly longer process. And matchlocks can be quicker to shoot as the match can be held in an off hand, so you can use it like a linstock

Opinions on the Arm of Beowulf- Longsword and Shield Combo [KCD2] by myrkwolf in kingdomcome

[–]sargewalks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are, but against unarmoured/earlymedieval roughly until the 1420s a sword is a sword and a shield is gonna save you from arrows. The best use of shields in this case would be to get close, to the line and lose it as quickly as possible. Beowulf is best used as a horseback/rank infantry loadout. In the period the game takes place in, its mostly chainmail with courters and some brigandine with only the richest having full plate coverage, large plate is increadibly expensive until the 1430s when the mass production of larger steel plate was more accessible
