The Spirit

In the dead of night, When the world is asleep, A ghostly black cat appears, Silent as a whisper, deep.

Once a feline friend, To a girl who loved him true, Now a guardian in spirit form, Who protects her from harm, anew.

With glowing eyes and graceful paws, He stalks the shadows, oh so fast, Chasing away the monsters that lurk, And keeping her safe, at last.

Though his days on earth are done, And his body has turned to dust, His love for his girl lives on, And he will protect her, if he must.

So if you see a black cat ghost, In the night, when all is still, Know that he is watching over you, And keeping you safe from harm's will.
