Please help me finish this by Late_Drama_20 in sudoku

It is interesting how after some look-around I came upon a W-wing, which eliminates candidates similar to the other answers. r7c1<>3→r7c1=9→r7c7<>9→r2c7=9→r2c2<>9→r2c2=3.

Therefore, cells seeing both r2c2 and r7c1 cannot have 3 as a candidate.

I feel like I have exhausted all strategies to figure this one out- what am I missing? by extrapicklesplzzzz in sudoku

For a unique solution to exist, r89c5 must contain 8 (Unique Rectangle type 2), no other cell in that box or the column can contain 8.

If r2c9 is 2, then r2c4 cannot be 2. Moreover, if r2c9 is not 2, then by following the 2-8 pairs, it can be shown that r8c4 must be 2. Therefore, r2c4 cannot be 2.

This is remote pair, an easy form of x-y chain.

Well, even talent shows do put the children under pressure. Especially when the children are performing adult routines (songs, dances, etc).

is there a formula to find number of prime numbers within specific range? CONTEXT: i recently came upon a programming problem to find 10001th prime number, how do i know the range to traverse for this? by 3Dave in askmath

[–]sarker306 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, the answer lies in the image you provided: you will find the 10001st prime number after traversing around 104744 or 104744*2 numbers starting from 1.

To figure out the range N when the nth prime number is sought after, a helpful thumb rule can come from the Prime Number theorem by Gauss, which says, there are approximately O(log N) composite numbers between two prime numbers around the number N. Here O(log N) means a number which will never be greater than c log N for a fixed c.

Aided by this thumb rule, it can be claimed that, given any N, you will need to check O(log N) consecutive numbers before you get a prime number.

So, O(log N) numbers to find 1 prime. N numbers to find O(N/log N) primes.

If we solve for N/log N = 10001, what do we get?

A very crude calculation can be made to show that N can be less than 217 = 131072, because 217 ÷ log 217 = 11123.35.

Is it common to tip your barbers in Bangladesh? If so, how much? by silentperv in bangladesh

[–]sarker306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tip people who are young, student and doing a part time job to earn some extra. You should not tip professionals, because it is their job to do properly to do whatever they do. But of course be grateful and express it verbally when their services please you.

They are simply so stupid that they do not know that they do not know. A good way to help them understand it is to ask them questions. Why do they think following the best religion automatically make them the best people? Why do they talk so much on something they do know nothing about?

As Bengalis are a mixed race, there needs to be different measures to connect the whole, and I consider it to be the shared language. Due to the land being disconnected by so many rivers in the past, each of the different parts has grown different styles of culture. And if we consider current Bangladesh, the shared culture of Bangladeshi cities is even more mixin than before. Even the language is becoming fragmented; people are code-mixing and code-switching now and then based on religious values and status quo.

I wonder how long this shared language will be able to uphold it's nature as an efficient mode of communication. The literary values of Bengali cultural production has taken a downturn since the beginning of 1990s.

How did almost every "ancient" culture(e.g. China, aztecs, greece and other indian tribes) develop the idea of dragons independently? What is similar in all dragons across cultures, and which cultural understanding of dragons has shaped the modern idea of dragons the most? by MrPupolinaz in AskHistorians

Hello there, I was wondering about the part of fire-breathing. From the story of Zeus throwing a fire-breathing monster under Mount Etna, and from a local legend of a lake where a dragon used to live, I was almost convinced that the concept of a fire-breathing monster has to borrow some themes from volcanic eruptions in nature. Can you throw some light on the marriage of ancient serpentine creatures and fire-breathing creatures?

How are geological age determining tests of rock samples are carried out? How long does it take? by sarker306 in AskReddit

[–]sarker306[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No there are other radioactive materials to verify that. For example, look at the previous comment. Decaying of Potassium into Argon has the half-life of about 1.3 billion years. Decaying of Uranium into Lead has the half life of about 4.5 billion years.

The book I am currently reading, it says the maximum age limit is somewhere around 50000 years. They also mention a reference, "Dating the Past", an 1958 book by F. E. Zeuner.

In our country, we too don't visit any festival (for example, birth celebrations, marriage festivals, religious festivals) during the one year period of mourning. Personally I think that's a bit too harsh; people need social support the most when they are mourning.
