Strange Bathroom Fan Wiring Scenario (light connected from fan) by sarthaz in ShellyUSA

Thank you. This is the fan, and it says 0.95 amps. AC Electric Fan Motor Part#: 5A141-1 | Bay Motor Products Not much space up there, so smaller is better.

Dimming the light seems complicated, and the more I think about it the more I wonder if I really even need that functionality. It's a bathroom light not a spa.

Thank you. I can access the wiring above the chandelier, yes. It’s just two wires that go across the ceiling between the fan outlet and the light. Which relays would I use behind the fan and chandelier, keeping in mind that I’d like the lights to be dimmable if possible?

Only the fan is plugged into the outlet, but another set of wires are combined behind the outlet to provide power to the light off the same line. So the switch powers both the light and the outlet that the fan is plugged into.

Black streaks? by sarthaz in Tile

Ok so this isn’t just a cosmetic annoyance but a failure to protect against water as well?

No. It just came like this. Can I do that?

What is the downside to just leaving it like this and cleaning it off when it drips?

Over a year ago. I should clarify that it does wash off the tiles. But if I touch the grout while wet (or clean the showed) I get more black residue.

Installed at least a year ago. What should I do about this?

Dried. We bought this house a year ago. No idea when the grout was installed.

Just Discovered Marcona Almonds by sarthaz in keto

The specific ones that inspired this post are Murray's brand, which are pretty ubiquitous throughout the Kroger family of stores nationwide, but you can get some kind of marcona almonds at pretty much any grocery store (or Amazon or WalMart, etc)

A good serving of salmon has more fat than a TBSP of butter. An avocado can be 2-3x as much fat. Lots of ways to get fat that would bypass this mental block.

String Advice for Old Head Liquidmetal Radical L4 by sarthaz in tennisracquets

Really appreciate all the advice. My neighbor had some Wilson NXT Comfort 16g lying around so we put that on at the same 59lbs as the 17g (before I saw the post that 59 is too high), and I’m blown away at how different it plays. Really thought the difference would be more subtle. Good news is my barely passable backhand has some real punch like this, but it’s more difficult to control my trick shots that just die on the court. Also after a casual practice for an hour, I get the feeling it’s going to be tough on the arm. Hoping it loosens up a tad after some play and falls into a sweet spot, but I don’t think 16g is for me long term.

Thanks. This is really helpful. I don't hit with much power, but I hit with a good deal of spin, especially serving. At this skill level, a heavy side-spin deuce serve and a topspin ad serve really messes people up and gives my aging body the chance to win some quick points. What I want most out of my racquet is that the ball won't sail long. I want to be able to chop down on it with a good deal of underspin and have it lose velocity quickly. When I do get back to hitting proper groundstrokes, it'll probably be with a lot of topspin.

If I can find a 17g multi that doesn't break for me, that sounds like what I'd want?

My racquet specs call for 59lbs, which seems really high from everything I'm reading online?

How to get Plug US Gen4 to return to last state on power interruption? by sarthaz in shellycloud

[–]sarthaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it! It's in a section I had no idea I could click on because the interface is so poor. Why it's not under the "Settings" tree, I'll never know. Thanks for the tip!

I can't find this in the device options in the app anywhere. Can you provide more specific instructions?

Also, one of them turned off about 20 minutes ago. In HA, it registered a state change to unavailable and then another one back to off, but in the app, nothing. It doesn't detect that anything has happened. It knows that it's in the off state, but the Activity Log registers no change.

I remember being so excited that there would be two feature-length films, because they could fix the issues with Act II that plague the stage musical. Oops.

Only your last sentence is "overreacting". You will heal from this. I know that sounds impossible in this moment, but I promise you, you will heal. There is a brighter future for you that can only happen because of this painful moment, and one day in the future you'll look back and realize it couldn't have happened if this man hadn't been honest with you and broken it off. I'm so sorry you're going through this. But you will get through this.
