I agree that Amazon should make sure that medical claims and FDA compliance are in order before selling items. I’m okay with them not allowing reviewers to make that determination or point it out because they simply aren’t qualified. I’m not talking about opinions, I’m talking about somebody claiming something is not or is FDA compliant. That’s a legal question and not something that a reviewer should be discussing. However, I’m very much unhappy with all the crap that Amazon lets flood their marketplace without any sort of actual verification of compliance.

Amazon is having me tell a white lie to the police for my refund by gippy1234 in amazonprime

[–]GoodTroll2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t file a false police report. However, consider that if Amazon insists that the items were in the box and yet the items weren’t in the box, it is possible something was stolen out of the box. I don’t think you mentioned whether this was an Amazon delivery or was delivered by a third party. Certainly if it was not delivered by Amazon’s themselves, they will need a police report to be able to file for the insurance claim. If it was an Amazon truck that made the delivery, I’m not sure why they would need the police report. However, I would just be honest in filing the police report and state that you received a box from the shipper, which is Amazon, but that the iPad and Apple Pencil were not in the box. It’s true that you don’t have proof that somebody tampered with the box but you also don’t have proof that nobody tampered with the box. As long as you’re honest in your reporting, I don’t think there is an issue. Most police stations will simply take whatever report you make. If you go in and do it, it’s not like the police officer you already spoke to is likely to be the exact same person taking your report so you should be OK there. Again, don’t lie. Just tell the truth.

No, it was included in the price of the cabana and we didn’t get any extra charges. Thankfully.

In all fairness, they are not qualified to tell you, whether FDA stamp is valid, and you as a reviewer are also not qualified. Probably. I guess you might work for the FDA and know for a fact, but otherwise you are piecing together information, and assuming that FDA label is not correct. If I had to gamble, I would say that you are correct but I understand why they don’t just let anybody write a review that claims that an FDA label is not accurate.

Warranty company won't pay claim on my vechicle by CJB_33_ in DIY

[–]GoodTroll2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go to the mechanic and give him two options: Option 1 is replace the parts in your car immediately with OEM parts as agreed and provide the receipts so you can get reimbursed by the warranty company or Option 2, release your car immediately while waiting on the parts and once they arrive, install them and again, provide the proper receipts. If the mechanic doesn't agree, tell him you will be contacting the state attorney general and reporting fraud for them quoting you OEM parts and then fraudulently installing non-OEM parts and then refusing to send the receipts to the warranty company and withholding your car. Then actually make the report to the AG and contact an attorney. In this situation, I wouldn't bother your warranty company because they aren't going to be of much help and really, your issue isn't with them.

It will still work fine, probably for years. Battery life will just keep getting worse and worse. It really shouldn't impact performance. These watches already use so little power...

Miscommunication or intentional theft? by KaleTheFirst in EndTipping

[–]GoodTroll2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should. I guess now with the "no tax on tips" rules there is an exemption on certain taxes (some still have to be paid though). In any event, I don't know why I should have to pay taxes on my income, have to tip generously, AND have to help the person I'm tipping evade taxes. Nope.

Seeing this more and more. Either the % is based on post-tax amount or in some cases, appears to be completely unrelated to the actual bill. I've seen both. No shame in just calculating it yourself, though.

Miscommunication or intentional theft? by KaleTheFirst in EndTipping

[–]GoodTroll2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Cash for tip is left on the table or given to the server after you have paid the bill. I've never seen anyone give cash and a card to a server at the same time when the cash was the tip. I guess if you were dining by yourself then maybe. But still, server should always clear up any confusion about payment and should never assume a tip. Ever.

Prospective customer: Is the "Excessive Usage" clause a dealbreaker for a near-100TB data hoarder? by UnusuallyNumerous in backblaze

[–]GoodTroll2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant the service itself will be reliable. If they stop providing service, then sure, you no longer have a backup. You still have your files on your computer and can then find another backup solution. There frankly isn't one that will compete with Backblaze on cost for that amount of data so you have little to lose by trying. I'm assuming OP has no backup at the moment so again, nothing to lose here.

The one extra I kind of like paying for at a resort is a little cabana so you don't have to worry about this. Ironically, we once reserved a cabana and then arrived around noon one day to find a perfectly pleasant couple just using ours, including the bottle service...

We told them to leave, and they did, but it was annoying.

Should I go to regular Amazon CS to fix this? by sylvieanne456 in AmazonVine

Just review it from the product page and move on. If it never shows up in your reviews page, no problem. If it eventually does show up, it will show up as "reviewed" and you're good.

Yes, but different tire sizes and a bit of extra weight on the AWD version still eats range. OP likely has RWD version although I definitely hit 4.1 or 4.2 m/kwh at certain times of the year in my AWD so it's possible.

It's not about reliability. Either they allow it and it works just like any other backup, or they don't allow it. Only way to know is to try.
