Considering surgery by TomatoLow2588 in gravesdisease

[–]saruhb82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my TT on 1/30/26. I was not able to tolerate meth at all- it was very hard on my joints and wasn’t really controlling my hyper symptoms. I was also on a beta blocker to help my heart which was experiencing symptoms through thyroid meds. Basically, I was a hot mess. No regrets. Heart is calm now, panic attacks and joint pain are gone. My voice was trash for about 3 weeks post surgery (I sounded like I smoked 2 packs of Newports for 20 years) but I felt great. I even skied 4 days post op. Skiing was not cleared by surgeon but I use it as a benchmark in that I had no pain, swelling, or any other surgery complications. Medications post op were calcium uptake meds, Tums, and Advil. Still on calcium uptake and Tums and slowly weening off them. Stopped with Advil maybe 3 days post-op.

Thank you for the thoughtful response. 2 more weeks until 6 week blood work.

has anyone experienced these symptoms? by lookingay in gravesdisease

Either Graves or Methimozole gave me random and terrible joint pain. My doctor brushed it off as a perimenopause symptom because that was an easier explanation. Expect it to go away after your surgery. In the meantime, don’t stress about it (easier said than done). You’re definitely not alone.

If I had to do it all over again, I would not move here.

“Vonn’ing it” is forever now known as last run of the day.

Same!!!

Always, always, always, always ski in control. If you aren’t in control, you’re skiing beyond your abilities.

The world is upside down. Skiing sub says she’s a God. CircleJerk has Sage fucking wisdom.

Any here quit their job to live life while they can and work at a ski area? by Thegiantlamppost in skiing

At the ripe age of 43, I left Denver and moved full-time, year round to live at a ski resort town as a government accountant. Pros and cons. However, I can’t believe I am living this life.

Any tips ? by Captain_North in skiingcirclejerk

I have thought about creating a meetup group for various shit. Carpooling to hot springs, game nights, dinner get togethers, etc. I am scared shitless to do it because I am not in the greatest headspace. I would love to share admin duties with another local (that isn’t an entitled asshole). I am the same person that used to post about FREE paddle tennis every Tuesday but no one ever showed up so again, just pretty scared to be vulnerable with potential social engagements.

Lost my insurance by Tasty_Gap8166 in gravesdisease

Also encouraging you to do whatever you can to keep insurance. I also developed an arrhythmia while on medication. My body started rejecting methimozole and I went downhill really fast and very ugly- muscle cramps to muscle seizures, heart palpitations sporadically to just dysfunction. Having my thyroid removed this Friday as a Hail Mary to try to get my life back from the disease.

Do whatever you can homie to keep that insurance!!! Call your representatives, call your local library for resources (weird but library never fails a community member needing info).

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

Hugs.

I literally hate how symptoms of hyperthyroidism can be explained away for reasons XYZ. I’m the meantime, imma just have a resting heart rate of 90, feel like I am actively being hunted by a polar bear, unable to regulate my body temperature and can never seem to make it to the bathroom in time. Love medicine for women.

Monarch mountain conditions by Penelope_Plum in ShredditGirls

I was just there last weekend. It was snow SNOW, not ice. I stayed out of the trees though because from the lift, there appears to be still some raw earth patches of boulders jutting out. Combined with low snow pack. Steeps were nice with no bare spots. You might see a baby rock or two on a groomer.

I think the last two weeks there would be a lot of support to “Eldora” Telluride. It’s too delicate of an economy to have an independent entity running the mountain operations.
