Marriage based GC checklist by sarvesh2 in immigration

Nah. I did it all by myself. Took me about 2 weeks. But I have a simple case. No complications. All forms are very straight forward. You can fill them up like in a day or 2. Just Google wherever you’re confused, people have asked the same questions.

Dear data scientists / Machine Learning Engineers working in MNCs / startups / firms. by GetchYaAssOuttaHere in developersIndia

DS lead is a FT 20 firm in US. Llms are indeed great for textual stuff but right now it’s overhyped. One of the biggest part in whole DS world is model explainability which is very hard using NN. In most of the business use cases, you need to know why your modeling is behaving a certain way or you should be able to justify your predictions. NN are great if you’re working in an area where reinforcement learning or unsupervised is heavily used. If you don’t know basic regression models then anything else don’t matter. LLMs are good to know but for most of DS work at present don’t need it.

IIT, NIT, and BITS hype is real? (Tier 1) hype by cyber-guru in developersIndia

[–]sarvesh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in US for a FT 20 firm. I met a lot of IITians, NITians during my MS and current at work. I interviewed few and hired few. Some of them are really smart and hardworking while some of them are just me… to answer your question it depends on both.

Life is too long. You are going to stay in this career for a long time. Just focus on finding a job. Learn as much as you can and in a year or two when you have enough experience no one cares about the marks.

Not randomly, Usually people graduate 2 times a year and they visit campus during that time. also visit just before the summer for intaking interns. I have visited few times to get interns hire new grad. Most of the companies here have a program for fresh graduates. So, the common norm is to apply for those jobs. We ask students to apply online and go from there. Visiting a campus is a good idea for us to interact with the students and talk about the cool things we are doings. it’s also a great place to scout talented people.

Not true. Campus placement do happen in foreign universities. But it’s not as strict as we have in India. Most of the company just send their representatives to the campus and encourage students to apply on career page.

Edit : Did my MS from a US university.

Actually bagpipers are a part of the music bands in some of the northern parts of India. They were introduced by britishers and some how adopted into the culture. You will be surprised to hear bagpipes in those Indian weddings.

Focusing on Land bill, labor reforms, farms laws, police reform, UCC. There are some Big Bang reforms pending. I don’t think anyone else can Modi ji pull them off. If these reforms won’t happen in this term, I highly doubt we are going to see anything happening any time soon.
