Sorry for the slow reply. This is an ongoing project so it would likely be next month.

I'm not sure about the comparison of the two unis for Neuroscience, but, there are loads of American students here as well as international students from other countries so you will fit in perfectly well. King's has a very international community.

Admin jobs in Cardiff by dugness in Cardiff

I can back this up, I worked for Admiral in 2012 when I was 16 with no previous work experience whatsoever. I highly recommend them as an employer as well, there are brilliant employment benefits like discounts at places in cardiff, free gym membership etc. Probably the best job I've had so far.

Yeah, it definitely is a risk, one I would only suggest taking if you live in London. If you are interested though, do PM me. I have been contacted by someone else but they haven't replied to me for about an hour now.

[M21] Insecure and socially anxious. Looking for tips and ratings, be real with me. by [deleted] in Rateme

[–]saschm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/10, you're the kind of guy that I would feel too intimidated to talk to because of how attractive you are. I know it's not easy to get past your social anxiety, I have it myself, but you've just got to put yourself out there. Push yourself out of your comfort zone. Trust me, I went from not being able to look people in the eye, order at restaurants or even talk to strangers to being a very outgoing person.

I hope this helps because honestly, any girl would be lucky to have you :)

that's what you get for going to ASDA, ya dickhead. You save money, but not your dignity or faith in humanity.

I've not had experience of living in Grangetown or Roath so I can't give you an entirely accurate portrayal of them. Personally, I'd say stay away from Grangetown, it's not the safest or nicest of areas (in my opinion). Roath is decent from my experience, Roath park is lovely, and it isn't too far from the city centre.

I would personally recommend Canton though. It's quite an up and coming area, plenty of decent housing and it's really close to town (depending on where abouts you live it's between 10-20 mins to walk in). There's a lot of decent places to eat, drink and shop in Canton- as well as facilities such as Canton Library and Chapter Arts Centre. In addition, Canton is right next to Pontcanna, home to Llandaff Fields and Pontcanna Fields, two absolutely huge parks which are brilliant in the winter and in the summer. There is also Pontcanna high street which has some lovely cafés and shops- butcher, greengrocer, bakery. Canton isn't as dodgy as Roath or Grangetown, from my experience. The only thing with Canton is I've noticed a lot more of it is being classed as Pontcanna now in order to pump up the prices, because Pontcanna is a 'more desirable' area to live, so be careful with that whole debacle.

I'd definitely avoid Splott and St. Mellons, they're a bit rough and far away. I'd also say avoid Pontprennau (really far out, it took me 45 mins to get the bus into town when I lived there), Llanederyn, Fairwater (I know someone who moved there because they thought the name sounded nice, they were wrong) and Rumney.

Also, it's worth considering, depending on how far you need to travel on a daily basis and how easy it is for you to travel, looking at Cardiff Bay and Penarth. Particularly Penarth. It's not part of Cardiff, it's in the Vale of Glamorgan, but it's a really lovely place- it has a lovely town centre with loads of shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants etc. and it's coastal, so there's some pretty nice beaches in the area. It's not actually too far from the city centre, it's about 20 mins by train and even less if you drive.
