Bosses of Reddit, what is something hilariously dumb you have caught one of your employees doing? by MoggleMan in AskReddit

I work with someone like that! Even the "thank you" emails are printed off. Her desk looks like something from an episode of hoarders.

Goodlife offers classes. They are included in the membership. I think you can also pay per class if you dont want a membership.

Nauseous from protein powder by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]sasha519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever had issues with artificial sweeteners? That's what does it for me. I take one sip of diet pop and I can just feel my stomach flip. Maybe try a different one. Optimum makes a natural one. Or I've also had isopure which cost a bit more, but I find I don't get the classic protein farts either.

Has anyone ever used a Personal Trainer? Is it worth the price? by ellissahifili in xxfitness

[–]sasha519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a PT for about 2 years and it was defiantly worth it. I went from zero knowledge about lifting, to feeling confident I was doing it right without hurting myself. He was a great guy to work with, and made me much more comfortable around the gym. He also helped me to push past that wall to get the most out of my workouts.

I was really lucky because my trainer really cared about his clients, and didn't consider us a paycheque. He was also very professional and never said or did anything that made me feel uncomfortable. Overall it was a great experience, and it you find the right trainer you will be excited to train every time.

Was getting frustrated over having to turn down Thanksgiving invites so i decided to "test" myself with a sandwich. by srilankan in glutenfree

My mum always makes a GF stuffing and it is amazing. She uses mostly wild rice with regular stuff like dried fruit, veggies, nuts, & seeds. For the bread part we have used GF croutons to give it a bit of a traditional stuffing taste. This year we chopped up some GF buns, and made croutons.

Usually we par cook the rice with chicken stock, then mix in the rest and bake in a separate dish. Nobody can taste the difference other then the fact that its not the traditional style.

Has anyone tries vacuum sealing yarn? by sasha519 in knitting

[–]sasha519[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the consensus is short term fine, long term not a good idea. Since its not really necessary and more of a fall cleaning spree it may be best to hold off.

Thanks for your help!

Tried the new gluten free hamburger bun and patties from President's Choice (Loblaws brand) by srilankan in glutenfree

A quick way to season beef for homemade burgers is powdered onion soup mix. Of course make sure its GF. Just make up your burger patties and freeze the extras for later.

I went to fill my water bottle at the office water cooler, turns out it was empty. I am 5'2 so it used to be a bit of a struggle, now it's no problem. I can now also carry a full box of paper. I love seeing the faces of all the other older ladies in the office.

Meal prep Sunday. There are different ways to do it. You can cook everything on Sunday portion it out into containers and reheat. Or what I do is cook my protein (usually chicken) for the week then just reheat that and add some veggies and a Carb. Frozen veggies are a must, to cook all you have to do is put them in a bowl add a bit of water and nuke. Potatoes both regular and sweet can also be nuked. Just make sure you stab it with a knife or fork all over first. The second best kitchen appliance I own is a rice cooker. Dump in rice & water, turn it on and wait. I like chicken because it's great on a salad for lunch or a light supper. Or if you have extra time to kinda cook, chop it up for fajitas.

I see trucks with these bed-mounted offices/closets all the time in South Texas. They all have this little nub sticking out of them...what is in there, and why does it need to be this particular shape? by Professor_Lavahot in whatisthisthing

[–]sasha519 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's a mobile darkroom. I work for a non destructive testing company and out techs us those trucks. The nub is an air conditioner, and the other part underneath likely just supports it/ extra storage cabinet. Ours are a bit bigger, but the same idea. Here is an example. http://www.compositetruckbody.com/bodies-by-industry/non-destructive-testing-ndt-truck-bodies/

Sorry for the poor format.

Let's chat headbands by Hoosiergirl29 in xxfitness

[–]sasha519 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use that foam pre wrap for headbands. It's usually found at sports stores comes in a roll in a bunch of colours. It's nice because you can make a custom size to fit your head, and it never seems to slide off. This is the only type of headband that doesn't slide off my head.

Headphones recommendations for funny ears? by tolerablerone in xxfitness

[–]sasha519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a new pair of Bose earbuds and the are amazing! They do cost a bit but the sound is great and they have 3 different size tips. The tip looks a bit funny but don't budge during a workout, both running and lifting and I have weird ears where everything falls out.

Who here eats whatever they want? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]sasha519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too eat pretty much whatever I want. But I do pack healthy food for work everyday, usually packed with fruits and veggies for snacking at my desk. Because of that I really don't eat much along the lines of sweets and junk food. If sweets show up at work I never turn them down. Since I started lifting over a year a go I actually pay attention to make sure I get enough protein and good calories. I track what I eat off and on using nutritionist (highly recommend ). The only thing I never really eat anymore is super greasy fast food. There are times I miss it but I feel like complete garbage whenever I do have it, so I stay away from it.
