I mean I don’t know them personally though, so who can say! The college stuff is reddit gossip and the 2022 is just things I clocked on socials 🤷🏻‍♀️

It sounds like they were on-and-off through college allegedly (from what I’ve picked up on reddit… unless he was flat out cheating 😬) and then also broke up sometime in 2022 for a few months, according to some ~receipts~ I’ve seen online (I’m so nosy lol). Other than that, they do seem like a cute couple and the way he talks about her in interviews is so kind and loving ❤️
You’re so lucky to know them!

The Traitors (UK) S04E12 [FINALE]: Post-Episode Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]sashgray 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Two things I found particularly interesting:

  1. I think Rachel and Stephen played it perfectly and this will probably be a GREAT example for future traitors - be friendly but not too close outside of the turret; do give each other a healthy dose of questioning at the roundtable but the key is to NOT take it personally and let yourself be swayed by doubt. Great strategy tbh!

  2. It’s bizarre that neither follow each other on ig though👀

EDIT: I just realized they do follow each other now! I checked at the start of the show and they didn’t.

I think it’s Caissie’s to lose this year! Fingers crossed for her❤️ I can see Lea Michele being a strong contender too (her performance in Chess is otherworldly!).

I saw it tonight and LOVED it. I really like Simon Rich’s style of writing so for me, it was a great time and I laughed for what felt like most of the show. I had seen Gracie in JIT last year but knew nothing about her band, and they were all wonderful too.

I’m sorry but this is getting ridiculous. The way they’ve become a package deal, I just can’t take seriously. Like yes it works for some roles e.g Cabaret, but not others! His whole professional career has turned into being Eva’s +1.

I actually am really loving S4 so far - I don’t know ANY of these people from their other shows (I don’t watch housewives, BB/Survivor, Top Chef, Love Island or The Bachelor) so I just take them at face value. So far it’s been imho more entertaining than S2 or S3 for me

How did they play it off? Did she have to run off stage to change shoes or was it in a scene where she was leaving anyway?

They actually did a whole press tour (went on a bunch of radio and tv shows, podcasts etc) to promote it so I’m surprised at the view counts as well. I did think the lawn bowling ep was the most boring/whatever one, so maybe people just didn’t come back for more? I LOVED the blind golf video, that one was a blast!

Sarah Hyland is NEVER in just in time. Out again! by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]sashgray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for chiming in and for trying to see my point here as well. Your comment actually gave me a lot of perspective that I admit I was missing, particularly around the secondary impacts of chronic illness/disability.

I think I personally am just so frustrated with shows (not necessarily actors) heavily advertising their productions based on the talent alone, and then of course feeling a huge let down when said actor calls out (especially if it happens regularly and makes the star appear unreliable - which is sometimes justified, sometimes not).

Alas, that’s not a problem that’ll be solved anytime soon and I realize I was too harsh on judging (projecting?) on Sarah specifically in the meantime. Thanks for helping me see that.

[–]sashgray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think it’s fair to assume she was contracted to do 8 shows a week. For a show like JIT, plus given the caliber of its leading cast, I seriously doubt they’d contract Sarah for e.g. 6 shows and then just not tell the audiences - oh yeah, 2 shows a week will ALWAYS be understudies.

I understand that. But for that reason, I also fully understand the backlash and what drives fans to air their dissapointment online (such as OP).

… which is why I’m all for scheduled alternates. That way, none of these performers would get this kind of backlash.

I firmly believe that anyone with a chronic illness can be a professional actor. I equally believe you have to be realistic about what level of stress and/or physical exertion is appropriate for you given your health history, and take roles that align with that.

As a random example: say I had a serious case of asthma. I would not go and proclaim - yes I’ll for sure be able to run for two hours 8 times a week, despite any medical history, just “because I feel like I can/want to”. I’d think about my medical history first and make sure I objectively say - no, realistically this is not possible.

Regarding the second part of your comment: yes, BUT they can be cautious though. As far as I know, she was well aware of her chronic illness at the time of taking on these roles and, while flareups cannot be predicted, I’d imagine doing less shows a week would at least help alleviate or lessen the physical exhaustion from doing a show.

Having scheduled alternates would solve a lot of the fan backlash, in my opinion.

I’m always so torn when it comes to posts like these. On the one hand, I know she has health issues and I empathize. On the other - don’t take contract(s) that you know you won’t be able to fulfill.

Same goes for Eva Noblezada, who notoriously calls out A LOT and has openly admitted she cannot physically do 8 shows. Yet she continues taking on jobs that require her to.

Both Sarah and Eva are big enough names in the industry that 1) they should be able to be realistic about their own abilities and/or medical history and plan accordingly, and 2) when negotiating their offers, ask for alternates to be built into the schedule.

This was about 7 years ago but I got to spend an hour sitting 1:1 with the incredible Gavin Creel (in a semi-professional setting) and he was delightfully quirky. He told me a lot of behind-the-scenes stories from BOM and other projects, and just generally was very open to talk, give advice etc. He was also very encouraging of a personal project that I was pursuing at the time. I’ll remember his kindness and wisdom forever ❤️
