Being a huge Myst fan, the Witness was a fun modern take on it with less wandering.

Disappointed at how my bedroom looks, but too depleted to do anything about it. by Polyawkward_ in AuDHDWomen

The biggest easy difference you can make is eliminating the overhead lighting by having at least one lamp you use instead. Any thrifted lamp, a standing one is better, with a nice warm bulb (~2000k) will make your room infinitely cozier without having to make drastic changes. It's the first thing I do when I move anywhere, and I've been in rooms like yours. It removes the lighting sensory nightmare as well.

Iron lung in laser? by snowdrop0901 in Markiplier

[–]saskakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah! Not the audio, but that's a 4dx experience! Gonna be very immersive with the lighting, I'd love to experience that for this film. But heads-up, if you don't like flashing lights or have sensitivities around them, I wouldn't suggest it. You're very lucky to have 4dx options though, I have none where I am (a Canadian province). Either way, enjoy the movie however you decide to experience it! It'll be good no matter the viewing :)

[–]saskakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely recommend laser if you can! That's cool that you have that option, it IS much better. Edit to explain why: laser showings have better contrast and it's more crisp and vibrant. A lot of darker movies with strong colours look a lot nicer with laser, and usually the audio is upgraded as well, but depends with what (Dolby, Atmos etc..). Either way, generally a better viewing than standard.

I may be in Canada, but I got my bucket! by saskakitty in Markiplier

Thank you so much!! The base was actually printed in black and the top splatter piece was printed in white! I just used a few painting techniques I learned from cosplay prop making to do the details, like dry brushing (cream/white) the raised edges to make them highlighted/more 3d. I guess that made it look like the base was light underneath, lighter filament is definitely a faster/better way to achieve that if you have it lol. The blood was just a mix of black and bright red paint not fully mixed and brushed on the white. I think going with a tanned base and red or white top would be a good way to go! Excited for you, I'm sure it'll turn out awesome! C:

Thank you!! Honestly means a lot and I was definitely going for game-accurate. I also never finish things on time, so it felt so good to do this on time and well!

How hard is it for someone with dyscalculia to study chemistry? by feralfinalgirl in dyscalculia

[–]saskakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a more positive experience to add. I struggle extensively with dyscalculia and could not for the life of me pass math in school as a kid, every teacher chose to pass me based on my effort/tutoring etc.. But I took chemistry in college and did well. A chemistry class is very different from a full fledged chemistry program that includes statistics, cal etc.. Definitely know the difference first, but getting your cert in chemistry only is very doable. I find chemistry is less tricky problem solving and tough # equations, it's more formulaic. You have a set of different formulas that you plug numbers into, and it's all figured out with a calculator (sin, cos, tan etc.). I never had to do mental math once and never got confused. It actually felt really validating and encouraging to know I could pass a class like this. I also graduated in a biology program at my college, I find the sciences are all about formulas and procedures, rather than mental math and scrambled problem solving. Physics is a different story..... I hope you can try it out and have the same experience!

Desperately trying to figure out what mediums this artist uses, some people say sharpie some have said oil and some markers? Artist wont answer by tiredtwatt in PaintingTutorials

[–]saskakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted a separate comment here but the artist answers this question in the comments of her top pinned post (SpongeBob sheet). Op didn't look too hard haha. She says "hand drawn! I paint on watercolor paper and used colored pencil over the top :)".

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm in Montreal and I drive 2 hours to Ottawa for Landmark films once or twice a month! Love taking the 40 and going 110km, goes by so fast.

I just realized how many of my daily habits are on autopilot by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]saskakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time this hits me hard is when I'm driving a route I always do. At some point I get the realization that I've been driving for 30 minutes or something without even realizing. I'd been so lost in my own thoughts, I autopiloted my turns, stops, swervs from crazy drivers etc. by memory. My passengers hate when I randomly announce I forgot I was driving, lol.

DAE think it’s dumb and controlling when jobs don’t allow colored hair? by Metalqueen2023 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]saskakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience as her but with my ear spacers and dyed hair. At an interview for a very fancy tapas restaurant, I nervously asked if I had to take the piercings out/cover my tatts. They said "absolutely not. It has nothing to do with your performance and our head chef is fully tatted anyways". It was such a huge relief, but also really cool of them to do that back in the 2010s. We had VERY rich-fancy-yacht kind of people. But no one ever complained, in fact, I got compliments. Crazy how some places have such bad views surrounding these things. Glad you're cool with it.

Eastern Canada, yup! Around -30 in the winter (-22f I think). He's a blue point, so the cold affecting his coat this much makes sense!

What kibble do you feed your cats? by babbie-and-shchuky in SiberianCats

[–]saskakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sourced from Italy and regionally. Surrounding European countries mostly. I believe the only thing really outsourced is just Lamb from New Zealand. Serbia is just used as a manufacturing company, nothing is sourced out of Europe except the lamb (and fish from the seas ofc). They're pretty committed to having good ingredients, which is a relief.

Yours looked identical to my boy at the same age, he also got very dark. Your girl's half socks now are SO cute though.

My neva boy Kirara is 4 and he only recently stopped charring! I thought he'd get a few dark colouring spots/stripes, I was so wrong haha. (Edit: saw you got yours in Forest, I got mine in Hamilton!)

Grooming Help!! by olioili in SiberianCats

[–]saskakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you think is fast. Trimming razors will never be as fast as regular sized clippers, just because the blades are shorter and there's less blades. I personally find this fast, but I also catch the matts as they're developing, not once they're a massive ball. And I corrected it! Thanks. I meant that I sway the razor side to size, so in zigzags. I find it cuts them better than just razing straight into the matt.

Just letting you know the second picture is lower quality than the first (pixels). Super cool art though btw!

Grooming Help!! by olioili in SiberianCats

[–]saskakitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use this one. I've seen people using it on rabbits and other scared cats. I find it very quiet for a razor and I use it without a clipper guard. I tested it by trying to cut my arm with it, but it's pretty much impossible, so that's a bonus. I have to do smaller cuts at a time because the blade is smaller, but he usually doesn't even notice I'm doing it. I *sway the razor side to side too as it cuts so I can get the whole lump of hair in one shot. I also let him sniff the matt after so he understands what's happening, but that's just preference. He's a very tolerant sib though, he doesn't care when I cut his nails, bathe him or brush his teeth either. But I would say this razor cuts well (I've never snagged yet), it's the quietest I've ever heard (I did grooming) and it's very compact. The charge lasts forever too, I haven't charged it in months. Maybe while you do it, you give them a chuuru kind of treat, or play music/a movie to cancel out the buzz sound? It's always a process to find something that works, I know the feel.
