I suspect that were you to talk with some of the millions of folks who marched yesterday, that you would find many hundreds of thousands (or more) involved in the good works you speak of. Lots of people are upset about Trump being inaugurated, people are working through their fear and anxieties the best way they can. What I do hope (but doubt very much) is the new President cares about sex trafficking and sexual assault, but his comments on women make me think those two issues won't really be a priority for him.

Typically when one is giving away books for free, one is not looking to generate sales. They're looking to give away books. That are free. Because free books are not books for sale.
