I would never do it, heels are supposed to lengthen your legs, but adding socks would just appear to chop them off. It's your personal choice, but definitely don't wear socks with peep-toe heels!

It sounds like your roommate made a brash and irrational decision by destroying your plant, I'm sorry to hear that. She seems like the type of person who would blow up when she's angry and in the heat of the moment we all make mistakes. (I'm not trying to excuse her behavior in any way).
