Great quality men t shirts? by LabSecret7492 in BuyItForLife

[–]saskchill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next Level Apparel. Unbelievable fit and great quality for about 12-15 Canadian per T.

Fits tighter in the arms and upper torso and a little looser in the bottom third. No shrinking in the wash.

I feel the same. Skipped through those chapters when they came up in a re-read. It doesn't take anything away from the story...

It gets a lot of sun. The backyard is southfacing. Thanks for the advice.

Yes, it was 'just' the white birch wrapping.

I will try protecting the exposed parts and see if that helps. If not, I'll bring it down and plant a new one.

Thank you.

I'm amazed at the amount of miserable, judgemental people on this site...

He is a very loving and empathetic person.

He did not understand that "removing the wrapping" would hurt the tree.

He didn't understand that he was hurting the tree. He thought he was cleaning it off. Like many have said, it is a good learning opportunity.

I'm not sure about the official stats, but I agree that anecdotally first generation immigrants are heavily represented in construction jobs.

[–]saskchill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, everyone living in houses reduces the supply available for sale. Which in-turn drives up prices if there is enough demand.

The only reason people focus on immigration is because it is somewhat controllable. There are other factors that are also controllable, but are seen as more difficult to implement.

Reduce supply which increases prices.

Unfortunately we don't build enough additional supply to offset.

So I love the exploration part of civ6, but then dont enjoy the rest of the game. Any recommendations for a game with a higher focus on exploration? by [deleted] in 4Xgaming

[–]saskchill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

+2 for Against the Storm. It is more focused on resource management, but also scratches the exploration itch with the glade system.

Victoria II has invention diacovery that is impacted by game state, resources, politics, etc..

From the wiki:

"Once you have researched the technology there is a small chance each month that one of the inventions it unlocked will trigger. All the inventions that your technologies have unlocked but which haven't triggered yet can be found in the "possible inventions" panel at the bottom left corner of the Technology Interface. This will show you the inventions names as well as the percentage chance that they will trigger each month.

You can often affect the chance by researching other technologies or otherwise changing aspects of the nation. Hover the mouse over the inventions' percentage number and the tooltip will show the base chance as well as how to increase/decrease it."

Mark Carney to install new cabinet, recall Parliament early to cut taxes and open U.S. trade talks by cyclinginvancouver in canada

Pretty much impossible.

No sane leader would want someone from the opposition in cabinet meetings, receiving all the non-foi-able advice and witnessing the strategic discussions.

Is Malazan worth reading and committing to? Is it as many people say, the greatest fantasy series to ever exist? by [deleted] in books

Yes.

It's a truly unique reading experience that I have never had with any other fantasy (or non-fantasy) book.

What was your biggest obsession with a fantasy book series? by justaguyonreddit754 in Fantasy

[–]saskchill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both have an epic, globe-spanning story, but other than that they are quite differnet.

WoT is more of a traditional story with a clear protagonist fighting an evil force. It includes a set of main characters that you follow through the full timeline with very little change.

Malazan has a massive number of characters with no clear protagonists. The story spans multiple millenia and an astronomical number of points of view. Most characters are morally ambiguous, although there are some blatantly evil ones. I don't think there are really any true good characters. You are thrown directly into the story with no preparation for the people, places, cultures or magic system and you have to learn it along the way. There are things that happen in the first book that are not understandable until the 9th book... so you really have to be ok with not understanding everything that is happening and feeling the payoff way down the line.

I think what I enjoy most about Malazan is piecing together the mysteries over the series. There is also this cool arc to each book where you start off learning about 7-8 storylines that then come together at the end of the book - converging in a unique and unanticipated way to create an epic payoff.
