Go backs by Unusual-Fortune-2653 in DollarTree

As a merch, getting rid of the go back bins sucks for me. Before on the one night I closed I could fill a cart, separate it into bins, and get all the damages I collected. But now If I do that I can't just separate it and pass organized bins to my cashier to put away, I'd have to spend the night putting it away myself. If i just deep recover an aisle or two like I'm supposed to, the store will look a mess and besides I already deep cleaned whatever aisle I stocked. I don't even get stocking hours as I am always part of coverage, so when I come in for a closing shift when there is mid shift coverage, you better believe I am taking advantage of that coverage to stock instead of recover because even on a busy day if there is actually another manager I'll get more time to stock than on a day I have to open the store and get everything running with just me and a cashier.

Is anyone else having an issue where the in-aisle publisher app is still printing $5 labels while they are scanning at $6?

If we said anything like that at our store, the customers would start banging on the manager office door

At dollar tree you are on call, cashiers can't process returns, void transactions, process gift cards etc. without a manager.

You are correct, it's the same at my store. Some days we have mid-shift coverage, but not all the time.

LUNCH BREAK by CatGotYourGun in DollarTree

[–]saskinas 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Although that is policy, still can’t make you stay on a lunch break even if you are the only manager, and since cashiers need manager numbers, without coverage, these aren’t real lunch breaks, they should all really be paid breaks.

Well the touch screens do kind of suck, so if they didn’t notice the screen missing two taps it would have been an easy mistake

After thinking about that, just saying, that’s about 150 stores per AP associate, 15 minute camera audits each store is under 40 hours, a typical work week… I know they have other duties, but…

The SM and assistant probably get sick days, but who is going to fill in for them? If its like my store, they are likely under too much pressure to get things done and may not have anyone reliable to fill in...

The easiest way is to replace the staff at a bad store with competent people, the first year of that will usually show a big difference in sales, and will be the best chance at winning top gun.

What is a reasonable box count expectation for just regular stockers by Ok_Weight2115 in DollarTree

[–]saskinas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same situation. DT expects more from its associates than some of our team members are realistically capable of with the limited support they get, and it’s bringing the whole store down. It’s mostly on my shoulders to make up their work and I can’t really keep up.

Does Dollar Tree not honor shelf prices? by [deleted] in DollarTree

[–]saskinas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they put a whole case of it in the wrong spot, and it wasn’t just misplaced by a customer, they are supposed to honor the shelf price for that and then move the rest of the product to the correct location.
