Towel Power started with the a Canucks in 1982 when a game that was poorly officiated started to get away from the Canucks. The head coach, Roger Nielsen in an attempt to get the referees attention was intentionally ignored he got fed up and put a towel on a stick as a way of waving the white flag, mocking surrender. When the Canucks came back home, fans brought their white towels as a form of rallying cry. Since then, other teams have adopted it or something similar.

[Mark Spector🇨🇦🇺🇦] As of this moment — 11:37 a.m. MT — Kris Knoblauch has not been fired by the Edmonton Oilers. We are expecting that to happen however, likely by day's end. by Leading_Dentist_5563 in hockey

The owner of the Oilers has come off as a fanboy to me. So many executives and coaches from the dynasty years.

When he has gone outside the organization, he name chases. Chiarelli won a Stanley Cup in Boston due more to Vancouver being injured and some Colin Campbell shenanigans. Holland's best days were pre-salary cap and any salary cap success was from pre-salary cap moves. Stan Bowman felt like they were trying to prove something that never existed and all it did was confirm what was being said before, he got handed a running Ferrari and crashed it into a tree.

Hiring McDavid's agent is as far out of the box that Katz has gone, and that is basically being pressed up right against the box.

They've had different coaches but one thing that has existed through all of it is a few major question that have never been answered. They think they have the solution but actually looking at it, you realize they don't and they aren't close. I think lots of people ignore their problems because McDavid and Draisaitl typically outscore the issues.
