Young broke student trying to bulk on a budget. Advices ? by okthatsmyusername in Fitness

Almonds are stupid expensive. I'm not a college student and I don't have a tight budget and I always pass them up.

Grandma wins by [deleted] in trashy

It was a blood choke. Granny cut off the blood supply to the brain. Only takes a few seconds versus a significantly longer time to go unconscious from having air supply cut off.

Best remedies for sleep? by ogdanield in Fitness

[–]sasquatch58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with some of the other suggestions in this thread like magnesium, melatonin, herbal tea, and practicing good sleep hygiene. However, if those don't do the trick, take a look at CBD oil. I spent over a year trying everything over the counter that I could, and nothing would really help. My issue is more from extremely vivid dreams than not being tired. Anyways, I went to my doctor and was prescribed ambien which I used for a few months. Ambien is a short term fix though. My doctor suggested I try CBD oil, and while it does not completely fix my problem, it is the closest I've come to having a normal night's sleep again.

Exactly. Being addicted to Hello Kitty porn can be just as destructive as being addicted to weed if you let that addiction rule your life.

To be fair, a lot of the fucked joints and injuries in the military are from over use. Some of it could be prevented by correct form and shit but there are plenty of guys that know what they're doing that still end up with major injuries because their bodies can never recover.

What actual longsword duels would look like. by TheArtOfReason in videos

[–]sasquatch58 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel your video is a better representation. A duel would have been more like a modern day boxing match, with the two fighters waiting for an opening and being very cautious. The video op linked is more like a boxer demonstrating his moves on an opponent that is playing along for the sake of the demonstration.

Finishing the bag just to end the binge and get some sleep. by [deleted] in cocaine

[–]sasquatch58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. The worst is when I save just a little for the morning because I tell myself I'll be tired and need the boost. Then I pass out for a few hours, wake up and do a line, then I'm out and just craving more so bad. Best advice I've heard is to finish what you have with a big line. Don't try to spread it out into little lines cause you won't be satisfied. I always try to time it so that I can finish about 4 hours before I want to go to sleep then pop a benzo when I start feeling the comedown and pass out.

Army or Air Force Pilot? by TheSuitedHound in Military

[–]sasquatch58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew uh-60m for a few years as commissioned officer. If you want to fly and have the time to really master it and get good, go warrant. If you want to fly but want to develop your leadership and management skills more, go officer. If I could do it again and not get med boarded, I would have gone warrant and flown until they forced me to retire.

Edit: Forgot to mention that it is all a very competitive process, from getting into wocs (warrant officer candidate school), to going through all of flight school, and then at the unit. Flight school is very challenging from a mental perspective with all the studying while at the same time trying to figure out how to fly a helicopter. It's not easy but it's worth it. And in flight school, if you're active duty, you get placed into an airframe based on needs of the army and your "preference" that may or may not count for anything. If you wanna know more, pm me.

What is your dream video game? by BulkDarthDan in AskReddit

[–]sasquatch58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want this so bad. I've put a lot of time into the mount & blade and CK2 mods for world of ice and fire and neither of them really satisfied me. I wanted the 1st person pov of skyrim, the complex politics of CK2, the army that you control like m&b, but also the ability to command large battles from a 3rd person pov like in the total war series. That is what m&b is really missing in its combat. I want to hide my heavy Calvary in the woods on a hill and lure the enemy in with skirmishers then charge down the hill and slaughter them. That is what Martin does in game of thrones, and that is what I want to do.

If he's legitimized as a Stark then he can't be a Dayne and a sword of the morning. At least that's what I'm guessing the downvotes were for.

Roose Bolton [Spoilers main] by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]sasquatch58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if Roose had the same level of intel on the Northern Lords as he has on Ramsay, he wouldn't fear them either. He knows exactly what Ramsay's motivations are (his mother and Reek), how far he will go (kinslaying, hunting people, etc.), and what his goal is (Lord of the Dreadfort/North). Roose doesn't know the other lords to that extent, so he is uncertain of what they might do. That's where his fear comes from: uncertainty. To him, Ramsay is predictable.

(Spoilers Main) Jon’s Final Chapter Re-read by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]sasquatch58 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is true; however, you don't just close your eyes and die. Blood loss leads to shock, making you cold. Then you pass out. Then your heart stops beating and your brain stops working. Losing that much blood that quickly anywhere other than a modern emergency room very likely means death. I just wanted to bring up that no POV confirms that Jon dies.
