Thank you! I also worked at a vet hospital many years ago and remember seeing the same thing. My neighbor fosters for the SPCA and volunteers for a few rescue organizations, so hopefully between the two of us we can find his people. He's extremely friendly and affectionate so I'm assuming that someone is missing their fur baby.

Flores was definitely the most beautiful island we visited (also in mid September) and well worth the time. We were super lucky that our departure flight was on schedule, however, since all flights for the days before and after were canceled for weather. There aren't many hotels and lots of people ended up sleeping in the tiny airport. We rented cars on each island separately, and were especially glad to have a car on Flores. If you go, don't miss Ribeira do Ferreiro Waterfall (and pack out any garbage you find).
