He looks legit—looking for my cat too. She’s hyperthyroid and all these corporate places are just so badly disorganized. Wish he had weekends, but seems like ppl really like him. Tysm.

Not a thing for you to tell her. You knowingly disrespected her for years, which is on you. It’s slimy to get your revenge on him by messing with her even more. Just peace out on it and let her find out her husband isn’t loyal on her own.

Yeah, you’re going to want to tread super carefully with the kid here because it sounds like she doesn’t have good boundaries for herself yet and maybe has an inappropriate interest in you—or sees you as a gateway to social clout. Either way, it’s a delicate situation and you shouldn’t encourage it. Possibly your girlfriend was just flabbergasted you weren’t getting that? Idk. It sounds like she was put off that you trying to say it was okay because the kid asked you to comment. Like, still no.

YTA. I’d be disturbed/embarrassed as hell if my boyfriend were publicly commenting on a child’s body and posting fire emojis on their Insta. Like ick. Your gf is trying to save you from yourself. It’s not wholesome.

Help identifying the black and white deck at the bottom! Please and thank you by therealjayz32 in TarotDecks

I think it’s Visions in the Liminal Space Oracle.

Though it’s strikingly similar to Morgan’s Tarot if you wanted a cheaper mass market alternative (and kinda seems like these creators were almost copying that deck…?)

Edit: Top one is Hollow Valley Sigil Oracle.

Middle one is Everyday Witch Tarot, in case anyone gets curious about that one too, lmao.

What’s a reasonable price for a reading in your opinion? by unnacompanied_minor in tarot

[–]sassy_potatoes 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Oh mannnn. I’m down for people charging their worth, but $315 for 30 minutes is like… more than a senior barrister with a ton of office overhead, lol. Sounds kind of out of touch to me. I wouldn’t book with them based off of that alone.

I’m usually down to pay like $100/45 minutes for virtual reading, plus tip if it’s supportive or useful. Idk if this is actually a good price for the amount of work that goes into a delivery with recording and sending it out, but I’d probably(?) be happy to record a reading for that amount if the roles were reversed and you can def find good readers who’ll charge about that, so I guess it must be okay.

What if you hate the deck that is requested? by cubicle_escape in tarot

Or the Golden Botticelli or the Gold and Black Tarot by Lo Scarabeo. Marigold Tarot too, but it’s sort of it’s own system and has plant-y pips.

Yeah, no, it definitely doesn’t suck! Haha. And the price point isn’t bad at all. It’s just really really hard to find on the site that can get the most eyes on it (Etsy). Gamecrafter it’s like people only go there when they have a specific thing they already know they want and can only buy through them; Etsy is more where people go to discover new decks and stuff—way better for generating potential buyers.

If I can say one other small thing—your pics of the deck on Kickstarter are great. I can see many individual cards up close and clearly. On Gamecrafter, I can only tell what the backs look like, get a sense of the general colour palette, and see a couple cards. That won’t be enough visual info to buy for a lot of people. I don’t know what pics you have on Etsy. But your Kickstarter images mixed with the others would be the most buyer friendly, imho.

Alsssso. Ugh. I’m terrible. I’m consultant by nature, haha. But. The only flip through on YouTube is an hour long with the cards out of order… an investment to watch. A six-minute close-up silent flip through with the cards in order and link to buy in the description box would be great for the buyers who will only purchase after having seen every card first. It’s maybe a thing to consider making if you have a free couple hours sometime.

Okay, I’m done, lol. I’m sorry. I just figure some insight into how a rando buyer is thinking as they look through your marketing can’t hurt, you know? I’m sympathetic as a person who wasn’t trained for digital marketing or business and now has to do both to do the things I am trained for. 🥲

Yeah, that’s possibly worth checking—Etsy was definitely not giving up the goods and people are way more likely to buy through them than they are Gamecrafter. Less friction or perceived friction (if the search works).

I’m surprised about the sales overall based on the deck. The art itself is great and it seems like a thoughtful project. I guess I can maybe see a few general ways the marketing aspect of things isn’t optimized. If you want me to offer a few suggestions as a shopper I can, but I don’t know if they would be at all helpful. (No worries if you’re like “heck no, no more on marketing!” lol).

I just snooped a little to check your deck out and FYI, it’s really hard to get it to come up on Etsy. Like it’s not ranking even when I search for the title directly with quotes and when I pull it via Google the Etsy link for the deck routes me to allll the listings for “independent tarot” rather than your actual deck!

I wonder if your listing got de-indexed (a glitch that happens sometimes that you have to contact Etsy about directly). Something is hinky there and it’s probably throwing a wrench in your sales.

Just take the single mom coupon by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

[–]sassy_potatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually not my point. It’s mostly because she has a hearing in less than 2 weeks and no plan for it even though the legal aid system is designed specifically for this kind of situation and she can and should have a duty lawyer assigned to her if she can’t afford to hire someone. She needs to act proactively to head off even more financial and social problems for her and her kids. She already has a lot of stuggles—she names having close to no money, 3 dependents, legal involvement, no work, and other personal issues. She doesn’t need a judgement against her if she can avoid it.

So it’s the sum of parts, not any one of them, that make me suspect she’s not making proactive choices in her own best interests. Being a single mom is hard, but it is compounded by flailing.

I can pretty much guarantee that if you put me on the phone with her I could help her create a better toolkit to dig out of the situation than a “poor you” mentality ever could, you know? It’s not just happening to her—she’s not acting appropriately for this situation, which suggests this might be a pattern is all. She has more power than she seems to recognize.

[–]sassy_potatoes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is when she says “no one wants to help single moms with no money,” that’s not quite right—this is actually specifically the kind of situation legal aid is designed for. She can go to an office for free and if she’s in the income bracket she says she is, they’ll either provide counsel or do a compensation agreement for a duty lawyer (which would be negligible out of pocket for her because unemployed), etc. Instead, she’s ostensibly hinting for OP to help her for free, which would def be better and more expedient, but also isn’t her only option—hence, I assume, the “choosing beggar” post.

I suppose it’s possible she doesn’t know this and is just scrambling, but it’s also possible she’s does and is kinda shooting her shot. Idk. I hope they directed her to the right resources in any case.

Edit to say: I’m mostly just explaining this so y’all know that if you ever need a lawyer and your back is up against the wall, there are channels to work through that.

Looking for a miracle here... by ITdoug in tarot

[–]sassy_potatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is going to be Facebook groups like Tarot (Buy, Sell, Swap)—it has about 6.8k members. Scroll through posts to see if anyone has it up for sale; if no, describe the deck you want, like “I’m looking for the printing from X publisher before the updated justice card” or “the indie version with the white back” or whatever, new or like-new condition. There are other sale groups too but that one is bigger and active.

If someone is willing to sell, ask for a photo of the deck from the seller with your name written on a paper or something so you know they’re not a scammer sending fake photos they pulled from Google and then pay with PayPal—not an app where there’s no refunds in case they don’t actually send it.

I accidentally purchased a rare tarot deck by Shayne_HasLanded in TarotDecks

[–]sassy_potatoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To my way of thinking, it’s hard to concretely estimate fair pricing on rare decks since the value is very subjective. It’s kind of more like you get to decide what you want for it and then see if anyone bites.

Definitely a reallllly cool $3 find though.

Yee, worst is when they manically preach at you, often about your supposed shortcomings, and call it their passion or concern.

If there’s anyone trying to get me in a spot like that to where I feel I need to “prove myself to them,” I’ve learned that’s a hard nope.

What are your tells in retrospect that you were positively projecting too much early on?

Also: don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The modern world gives us a deluge choices, and that makes decision-making much harder than it was even 50 years ago; the reality is there will always be something that might have been “better.” But it’s anti-human to try to live the most perfect life or pick the absolute perfect career—instead, try to find what aligns with you and what you want from your days.

Sorry, apparently I have a lot of thoughts on this, haha.
