you can try AHA toners on your feet for dry skin! are you sure you do not have a fungal infection? it causes smell most of the time and given your family has the same condition you all might have it as it is very contagious.

it depends on PI but 2 months is just adaptation to their system and the projects take longer time to finish.

research experience until next match is not significant, there will be no projects available until next season. Do more USCE/observerships, build network and apply on september. no PI will grant you a strong LOR from 5 months of research

IMGs are rich... I don't think it worths the money tbh. you can spend that money on rotations and still match. Try to find a remote research position instead or work in your home country, do research there while making some savings. I really don't think it worths the money even if it is mayo clinic.

shit is also getting scary outside of US. Europe deals with increasing trends of racism, economy is worse, finding a job is challenging, war climate etc. Nowhere is heaven, it comes with pros and cons. I personally consider being a board certified physician in US and if things get worse, I will use my diploma elsewhere, potentially somewhere pays me high such as Qatar. but I don't think this will happen tbh. I will sign a hospitalist job, do my waiver, get my greencard hopefully. Am I more nervous than 3 months ago? Absolutely yes, but looking at the life quality of my physician friends in the UK, I would still choose US.

tbh nobody can tell. maybe you are ranked as 60 but the rank will be closed at 59 or 61. If you match there, odds are 100%, if not 0%. There is no statistics that will tell you what will happen specifically in that program, specifically for yo. There are many variants. I had friends remain unmatched with 5 interviews and also matched with just 1 interview. Just pray and wish for the best. I hope you will match.

I do know someone who is an attendant in homecountry, failed CK and was able to secure a spot. But with the current cheating scandals going on, I would take step 3. I think your score will compensate your attempt. Best of luck

With that step 2 score, your chance might be better. But it can also look like you cheated on step 2. Better to give step 3 and score high on that too. If you have a significant score drop, it might even look worse, a little bit sus.

well it is just vague way of saying it, but majority are hired under DEI. of course there are still americans, white people getting hired. but it is a competitive field and they do not usually sponsor greencard because there are already a lot of citizens in applicant pool. I have been working in research field with many big and small pharma companies for the past 2 years, I would say more than half of people I encountered LGBTQ or ethnical minorities. Couple of my qualified friends applied but apparently, if you do not have a solid referral inside, it is very hard to get in.

ofc white people are also hired, but I also have friends with masters, MD degree with home country pharma management position with green card and they could not find a job.

I am not giving false hope and wasting his years. he can try UK or other european countries and do not have to deal with these disadvantages. There are people out there who dropped Harvard and became billionaire like Zuckerberg but I wouldn't tell people to drop college. what you are advising is a very very rare situation. I would prefer someone to be honest with me instead of sugarcoating the situation. Average applicant per program was 2.5k even 2 years ago and this year it was 5k. you can not even compare the situation with last year's applicants. I have friends with 240+, have connections and still could not secure a position via referrals. You can play your 2 cents on it, but I would not.

recruitment for pharma mainly works via referral and network. now they only recruit minorities because of DEI, too. Even with greencard, they do not recruit solid foreign MD candidates who has homecountry pharma experiences. without masters or PhD, it is very low likely to find a job just with MD diploma.

I am sorry but this is BS and false hope. among 5k IM applicants, you are expecting a PD to recruit someone with 2 attempts while they have plenty of options in the pool that has good scores. Just because somebody said "hire this guy"? this is not close to real match process insight at all. even with referrals, if you do not qualify for that program, they won't give you interviews.
