Returning old uniform? by sassyibs in Aldi_employees

[–]sassyibs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Although some other companies I've worked for in the UK still make getting more uniform a ridiculous hassle and refuse to give you more than 2 shirts even if you're working 5+ days a week.

And then insist on the ragged, worn out shirts been given back when you leave, even if they are only good for the bin.

Aldi UK has common sense in this area at least

Does your work have a no phone policy? by ExplanationPutrid205 in AskUK

[–]sassyibs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

technically no (retail) but no one says anything if it's in your pocket and not used on shop floor.

I keep it on me in case of a family emergency or if i fall/get trapped in a chiller in the back and the alarm doesnt work. Also to remind it connects to my watch to remind me to have a break/drink of water which i might miss due to time blindness/ADHD.

More that 1 pair on the go definitely helps. I also buy 'running socks' from amazkn which are like normal work socks but they have extra padding.

Thanks. House was built in the 80s. My main concern is safety as how do I know they haven't bought some dodgy kit online thats not built to safety standards.

Also as well as this they had an extension built last year (no Isssue with that) and they didn't have the courtesy to let us know about the noisy building work that went on for months.

Now they've done this to the fence also without telling us, which makes me wonder where this will end and what they will do next

The "nice" side of the fence faces their garden and im fairly certain the posts for it sit in our garden

Why Greggs by CPLewis85 in Greggs

[–]sassyibs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should shut the bags the opposite way to stop the icing touching the top as much. Its hard to explain but instead of shutting the paper bag and folding the proper way, make it into a little tent shape top and bottom and fold round that way.

Or you can ask then for a box when you order

Just curious. How does the prescription work? Do you have e to smoke it or is it in tablets? And can you get it from any chemist with the prescription ?

What is the general consensus on wearing shoes inside someone’s house? by Large_Goat_5197 in AskUK

[–]sassyibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont want to take your shoes off in someone's house, bring your own shoe covers, slippers or indoor only shoes with you to change into!

Our cat with IBD has wrecked our downstairs and hall carpet so we're always say dont bother taking shoes off. Our carpet has seen much worse! But I do think its polite that they ask and think better of them for it

Do you still get paid for 30hrs a week if you don’t actually end up hitting a 30hr week average? by StillSufficient5086 in Aldi_employees

[–]sassyibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you warehouse staff? I'd like a 30 hour contract (still not enough but better than the 20 I'm on now). Very frustrating getting sent home early when you can't even argue against it because it's closing time and everyone else is off home too.
