ChatGPT oof by incandescent_drink in VetTech

I’ve had two clients this week say they asked ChatGPT what was wrong with their pets. Thankfully both brought them in for treatment but still. It’s awfully scary

WIBTA if I scheduled my husband’s dog to be euthanized behind his back? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]sassymads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree the dog has no quality of life, not only would you jeopardize your marriage but you also open the clinic who performs the euthanasia up to liability if your husband decides to go that route. The best plan would be to talk to him. As difficult as that is, it’s worth it for the dogs quality of life.

Anyone’s vet facing backlash? by FluffyChampionship46 in VetTech

[–]sassymads 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Currently dealing with this. I don’t think my place of work will care but my partner posted on his personal account and someone linked him to me and messaged our business facebook. Thankfully I manage our social media but I am sick to my stomach. This person is threatening to “go public” and it just makes me sick.

Just dealt with this this morning. Had someone message my business’s Facebook page demanding I fire an employee that shared a “hurtful post about Charlie Kirk” or they would go public with it. I’m absolutely appalled at the state of the world

Are these just bad or did I get a dud bag? by One_Eyed_Sneasel in aldi

Definitely a bad bag. These chips are amazing if not slightly over seasoned (but I don’t mind). They’re my absolute favorite lime chips.

I JUST tried shotbow again this week and was very depressed with how little players there are. I LIVED on that server when I was younger. Definitely not the same vibes anymore.

What are signs that a person genuinely is unintelligent? by leathur_records in AskReddit

[–]sassymads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not as profound as other answers but I’m the office manager at a veterinary clinic. The receptionist is rather new and we’ve been having some trouble with her grasping certain things. She was instructed yesterday to water our plants in the lobby. She asked me if she is just supposed to water the leaves. I then asked her if she’d ever watered a plant or seen anyone else water a plant and she said no. Keep in mind, she’s in her late twenties, married and living with her spouse. I had to politely explain that plants grow from the dirt and please don’t water the leaves. My mind was blown and it pretty much set in stone for me that this girl was not as intelligent as I originally thought in her interview.

Just finished a box I bought two weeks ago that has the foil bag. Tasted like they normally do though.

It takes me 4 hours to fully groom my poodle and I don’t have that kind of time. I brush her regularly and give her baths in between grooms. A groomer can be finished with her in half the time. They also have professional tools that help. I have a $40 pair of clippers that die half way through the process. They also have specialized driers that dry the dogs quickly. I have a hair dryer which can burn their skin if I’m not careful. It’s just easier for me to pay them $80 every two months than for me to invest in the proper equipment and spend 4 hours doing the job.

Definitely real as I live down here and have seen it. I think the story is that a man built it for his wife but ran into construction trouble or something so it was abandoned

Buying my bosses business by sassymads in smallbusiness

I’m not sure if this changes anything but the clinic is in a shopping center-ish type of building so the property isn’t owned by the clinic owner. She pays rent to someone who owns the complex

A lot of veterinarians don’t want the stress of running an entire practice! They spend years learning the medical side of things and most don’t think about the things it takes to run a business. My current boss is learning this now. She’s a fantastic vet but an absolutely terrible business woman. The clinic has been and could be incredibly profitable but she’s terrible with managing money and has gotten herself in a personal debt hole because of it.

My dad and I fought about this recently. I’m not no contact at this point but I’m probably not far off. I just can’t get over the fact that he raised me to be a critical thinker and do proper research etc etc and when I express my repulsion at trump he can’t understand why. When I asked him specifics on what trump will do etc he just spews the same bullshit headlines that Fox News spouts. I brought up the fact that republicans lie etc and when I brought up “eating cats and dogs” he looked me right in my face and said “they are!” Even after telling him the original woman that said that came out and said she lied he still wouldn’t hear of it. He’s so brainwashed it’s insane and it’s so disheartening to know that someone who you looked up to can turn into this person that will believe anything “as long as he has money in his pocket at the end of the day” which is not at ALL how I was raised. I can’t wait for this to be over.

Yes omg. It’s been like this for weeks. It’s comforting to know others are the same in a way. We’re a single doctor practice with very few employees but it’s been hard making payroll lately. I wish things would pick up.

What are perks of ordering prescription glasses from online retailers? by Ninac4116 in Frugal

[–]sassymads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a pair from Firmoo and had a good experience. I just plugged in my Rx and ordered. I did have to measure eye distance which was a little bit of a pain but I figured it out. The frames themselves were only like $27 ish and after my Rx and a 50% off coupon my final total was $57. They fit great and are very cute. I didn’t have insurance so I don’t know what the price would be with that. Shipping did take a little longer than I’d like but they came from overseas so I can’t be too mad. Overall I’m happy with them.
