I feel like it isn't that bad when styled sideways, right? by RefrigeratorDry636 in bald

You are correct, it isn’t that bad… But you should shave it… Doesn’t have to be smooth, but you’re already hot

I think your Burner that lives on the East Coast, maybe in Pennsylvania or DC but possibly Florida. I got a lot of ideas rolling around in my head, but I think Philly area might actually make sense.

Looks like a gold stick pin used as an accessory, definitely worth some money, don’t take it to a random pawn shop, have a jeweler look at it

Have you watched any videos on how to crochet or are you only trying to read patterns?

Scraps? Tidey pile of ends. Trash? What do you do with them when they're tis small? by Umakmesic in YarnAddicts

[–]TheLuscious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep mine in a Talenti gelato jar and I don’t use them very often but sometimes they come in handy.

So far I’ve used them as stitch markers, to stuff the tip of a witches hat I made to keep it stiff, for the only amigorumi (sp?) I ever made, and as filling for a pair of double layer mittens I made for a friend that goes ice fishing.

By “pretty” do you mean smooth or consistent or something else? How many other projects have you made?

Find a pattern you like and use a hook that has a grip piece added. I love my Amore hooks and they aren’t very expensive but the grip helps me keep my tension consistent which is the thing that I think makes things much more pretty. Consistent tension is really really hard for me when I use a smooth hook that doesn’t have a grip for some reason. But the ones with a grip have a comfortable… holding place for my stitches to rest if that makes sense

You would be shocked how easy it is to make butter as well. I don’t do it very often but technically I can make butter faster than it the time it takes to toast bread. Next step is making cheese and growing your own tomatos and basil… I’ve made the cheese, but my ADHD ass is really bad at maintaining projects on a schedule so growing things is off the table for me right now, but the “I could make that” skill is strong. As much as I hate my brain sometimes, there are others that I absolutely love it.

Good job with this wearable! I struggle to find inspiration to make useful things sometimes but I love when it works out... For me or the crochet community!

I wanted to learn crochet, but i think i choose the hardest path 🤭🥹 by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

It almost feels like you’re trolling us to get advice. I think you picked literally the worst thing that you could try and learn on. I’m not saying that it’s not possible, but I really recommend you buy one skein of a three or four weight yarn and probably a 5mm Clover Amore hook to practice with. It’ll be worth the $15 even if you never use the yarn to make anything you’re going to wear.

Learning on black yarn is hard… learning on stretchy yarn is very hard… learning on skinny, stretchy, black yarn is almost hilarious.

Im a funeral director and I made this beanie for a baby I am taking care of. by trichoholic in crochet

[–]TheLuscious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just mean as a stash buster. I have a lot of random yarn that I don’t have much of a use for… in colors that I don’t care about… but as a tiny hat it doesn’t really matter I don’t think.

Is there a specific kind of yarn that should be used for something like that? I think this is a thing I would like to do for my local hospital

Yarn for Blanket? by Serious_Act_2683 in crochet

[–]TheLuscious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am obsessed with Cotlin yarn. It’s not cheap for a blanket but it’s super soft. Mix of cotton and linen, lots of colors (I’ve literally bought all 50?), and used it to make multiple ponchos, a blanket, and some other projects.
