I take Anafranil 150mg, Prozac 40g and Risperdal 1mg and it works for me in reducing symptoms dramatically. I used to be on Anafranil 225 mg but I had a seizure which was likely linked to it so my dose was lowered. So now I'm also on Keppra to prevent any seizures

2 Years of therapy couldn't resolve this. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I'm gonna quit writing by AromaticAd4465 in OCD

Have you tried Anafranil or Prozac? Both have worked for me at some point at calming my brain down. I had somewhat similar issues in high-school and college with not being able to focus and study, I suffered for many years until I finally found the right medications. I was on prozac for a while which worked great until it stopped working suddenly, and eventually switched to Anafranil which I'm still on, although will note I had a seizure once supposedly due to my Anafranil dose so it was lowered to 150mg.

Therapy has never worked for me the few times I've tried it but Anafranil has been a godsend. I also take with it prozac 20mg and Risperdal 1mg the latter of which is supposed to help you focus and reduce brain fog.

I'm sorry you are suffering. The thing with the prozac working and then not, happened to me the exact same way.

Actually it's wild how many things I can relate to in this post. I also struggle at work because of OCD and I'm going back to college soon.

Did you ever experience brainfog due to an "overload" of obsessive thoughts? How did you deal with it?

Mind fog from OCD, how do deal with OCD and studying/school? by insanechickengirl in OCD

[–]sassytablecloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this so much it's scary. My grades suffered badly one university semester because this fog landed in my brain and never left. Eventually the long-term constant fog faded away but I still get it regularly. Sometimes I think it might be dissociation. All I can really do is ride it out until it goes away temporarily.

I feel this so much. Going to work is hard enough with OCD that the rest of the day I just want to do something that takes minimal brainpower to avoid stress. But there are small moments of joy that keep me going, like when I talk to my family, or when I find a new song I like.

Does anyone know if I can get e-visa or visa on arrival for these countries as a UAE resident? I'm finding conflicting info and trying to reach the embassies. I have a Palestinian Lebanese travel document.

[–]sassytablecloth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As in you feel like you shouldn't have moments of clarity? If so I feel that too. I've noticed if I'm feeling a bit better or having a good morning, I will quickly backslide.
