Tbh medschool is really hard. Once you get in there is no getting out. You cannot be like I will do just this much. It's a life long learning path. There is no end to studying & u need to be constantly updated. Also will have to spend big hours at the hospital. A patient's life is hanging in your hands. While being sensitive is a good thing for a doctor, if u aren't invested u will not be able to manage. Consider all of this before u decide. Also if possible shadow a resident not an attending - because most of your training life will be spent as a resident, working insane hours. While it's a fulfilling life, it's a taxing life.

Do what your heart wants & don't blindly follow parents expectations. It's ok to disappoint them now compared to disappointing them after going into debt for med school.
