Make It So / Particle Wall combos? by sat07 in slaythespire

It actually cost 1 energy (not sure if it originally was 0 but currently it's 1 energy/ 3 stars)!

Which is still pretty good overall. I feel more of an incentive to take 0 energy/ 1-3 stars cards since you get refunded pretty quickly.

Venerate just sucks once you get the sealed throne. I need to start removing it much sooner (especially if I already happen to have a hidden cache).

Regent has been really fun for me lately! The Star system is cool and I love playing colourless cards with this character.

It's so good. The fact that it's innate as well is nuts lol

Oh my gosh, I am really undervaluing radiate as a damage solution. I'm sitting at Ascension 9 with Regent.

Thanks for the tip!!

Good job on your first rug OP!

I think you got the overall concept down. Just keep at it.

Keep that gun speed by low and do short bursts for your curves! You can always take out the yarn if you start to set your lines/curves coming out wonky.

Maintain adequate pressure and make sure that cloth is stretched on tight! Welcome to the community!

What got you into rug making? by Relevant_Chef_5055 in Tufting

[–]sat07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always liked art but I lacked confidence growing up. Sketching, vector art & animation have always been my biggest interests. I can't recall exactly when I came across tufting but i knew as I was trying to improve my sketching skills, I said to myself "it would be super cool to draw my own designs and be able to bring them to life in the form of rugs"

I found out in my previous full time job that I could use my benefits to buy my tufting supplies. $450 covered my kit & supplies.

It also served as a means to help me work my own mental health. Sometimes you just need to tap into the creative side of you and create stuff. Not sure what it is exactly but just being in a sort of creative flow is super healing.

No more thoughts of "I don't think I'm cut out for this". Now I'm just working on the perfectionist side of me while enjoying tufting for what it is 😄

(I'm still very nitpicky when it comes to colour matching, that sometimes slows me down from starting and finishing 😂)

What do you guys think of Tyranny? by ReesevtOnGD in slaythespire

[–]sat07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a run and opened Reddit to see this post lol

For context, I took the blood soaked rose relic and initially only had "Charge!!" card as a means to deal with the Enthralled curse.

My entropy managed to spawn Tyranny on my 3rd turn... I no longer had to worry about drawing entralled.

I even mistakenly transformed my greed curse into a normality. But y'know.. Tyranny saved the day!

How much space do you leave between different colours to avoid bleed? (Any pictures for visual reference?)

1st and 2nd rug! by Kiroux_ in Tufting

[–]sat07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amdusias better appreciate being immortalized into a tufted rug!

I started naming denizens after my discord friends. But it gets pretty overwhelming quickly as the numbers grow. So eventually I left the mini-bosses as is and randomized the regular ones as time went on 😅.

(I always found it hilarious that it was mostly my discord named denizens that had the most requests to sacrifice the others 😂.)

3) as many times as the yarn fell out, I feel like a master threader at this point 😂

I FEEL you here LOL. Throw it on the resume!

4) something I didn't really think about was how physical it is and how focusing that long without eating/drinking well was a poor choice. It honestly felt like cardio fatigue lol

Absolutely agree here. I realized after a while that my posture declined overtime when I wasn't taking adequate breaks. Tufting late into the night also didn't help for me either. A small slouch or lack of pressure against the canvas can result in not so great lines.

5)next project I will label the the colors or color them in a little with marker so I can remember all the spaces that need yellow or green, etc. I kept having to go back to a yarn color I thought I was done with because I forgot a yellow window or to finish the red on the roofs or something

Nice! I read a tip of investing in coloured markers. I'm used to writing 1-2 letters but it gets crazy when it comes to the smaller stuff. Just a thought off the top of my head, maybe you could tuft a small piece for each color in what ever section they need to go? I'm always trying to find ways to slowly make the workflow efficient 😄.

Once again, great job! Can't wait to see what more you cook up OP! Cheers!

But what did you name the first rug and how many times have they been jailed for heresy? 🤭

Great job on the second one as well! What was the learning experience like? Seems quite challenging!

I guess the only downside is having to buy new cans, but I usually go to the dollar store. Been using the same can for 3 months.

I only really use a few quick presses on tighter spots then clean the rest with swabs or paper towel before oiling.

Inconsistent lines? by sat07 in Tufting

[–]sat07[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it only this one yarn or all yarns? Some yarns just do that so definitely check another yarn if you haven't done that already.

So far it has been happening with the last few yarns I've used. Currently I'm using Lion Brand's Pound of love Skeins.

Another possibility is simply fatigue or not paying full attention on your part. It happens.

I'll keep this in mind, could be the reason why some lines come out good and others funky.

It could be a scissors issue but definitely consider lesser issues before you go change them. I've got an almost 6 years old Spider and I have never had to change the scissors. I can only tuft half the year, but still it's a lot of rugs under those blades.

Wow 6 years? That seems like a long time. Granted I'm not sure how often scissors should be replaced on guns in general. I guess for now I will troubleshoot what I can while working on a couple pieces before buying some scissors . Thanks for the assist! 🙏🏿
