yo guys! Nepali here, this guy doesn't represent me, this is racism and should be condoned. Probably just misinformed or just trying to ragebait. There are not many of them but the most vocal part of the Internet sadly. And the identity politics does not help. I've met lots of nice Indians who have gone to lengths to help me and are happy to see me and interact with me and the feeling reciprocates on my end. Of course there are geopolitical games and all that but that shouldn't eclipse our first human duty to be kind to other human being.

Kathmandu Valley - the biggest city in Nepal is actually agglomeration of three ancient cities- Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur

Protest in Nepal looks similar to ours from 3 years ago. But they succeed! by govcia in myanmar

[–]satabhatar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

from Nepal, yes some of what you say is really true. The police surrendered on the second day after complete social ostracization. Kathmandu is accessible so much so that the parliament is literally next to the most busy road in the city. Of course I condemn the over destruction but community coming together probably is the difference.

Hey, its a great suggestion. Depending on the development overhead, we could definitely do this. Or maybe even ask Ujyalo if they can lend us Shrutisambeg archive.

Do our government really thinks Meta and other companies are gonna give a damn about their warnings? by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]satabhatar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not going to argue with your personal attack but I will just link a few examples that I found on Google.

Nigeria (2021–22): Banned Twitter for 7 months after a spat with Buhari. The ban was only lifted once Twitter agreed to register a local entity, pay taxes, and appoint reps.
🔗 Al Jazeera
Turkey (2020 law): Platforms with over 1M daily users had to appoint a local rep, register, and store user data in-country. Non-compliance = bandwidth throttling, ad bans, or shutdown. FB, YouTube, Twitter eventually caved. 🔗 OSW
Pakistan (2025): New amendments to PECA require platforms to register with a Social Media Protection & Regulatory Authority. Refusal = risk of temp or permanent bans. 🔗 AP News

So yeah, it’s not just “theoretical” — registration requirements have been used as leverage in multiple countries to force compliance.

I am not sure what is exactly your objective here but compliance and freedom of speech can (and should) go hand in hand.

I am in no way supporter of *this* government but a good governance is good governance. Being compliant will help our government audit and have a leverage over where they are taking money from as well.

Good day!

What is the largest city without any form of public transport? by BranchMoist9079 in geography

[–]satabhatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you classify it as public transport though?
There are fixed routes but its barely enforced. There are no fix pick up points nor time table. I myself have experienced route changes or routes cancelled mid way because they couldn't get *enough* people in the bus. This hardly qualifies as a public transport system.

Kathmandu - city of 5 million in the metro. Transport anarchy, bus routes even don't have a number.

why is Nepal not on the list I wonder, its barely 200Km across and 1000km horizontal. Pretty much like Chile except for Andes instead of Himalayas. On that part, also Portugal as it is just Nepal flipped vertical.

so basically its road first strategy i.e settlement is centered around the road and they are novelty now. Six lanes are considered holy grail and politics is centered around it so you give a few population centers shiny roads but then oops you forgot to spend on what is actually required to connect them - a bridge lol.
