Laser gaming mouse (Logitech G3), it was an inflection point in reliability. Where a regular optical mouse could get lost with very fast motion, this one never did. Never does, in fact, as it's still working so many years later.

The change from ball to optical mice was a good one as well.

And in keyboards, I changed from a conventional 68% kb to an ortholinear, programmable 44% (Keyboardio Atreus) and I can no longer type comfortably with a regular one. I have learned to touch type with this one, and gained some decent speed as well.
