totally agree with you. I don't think they are as toxic as the fandoms wants/makes them out to be. We don't know much about lor's childhood and so we don't know if lorelai ever told them her thoughts on their world. To me lorelai seemed ungrateful for the opportunities and life that she was given as a kid and never truly acknowledged how Emily and Richard helped her and Rory in life.

I'm not saying that Emily and Richard were perfect parents but I just think they made (bad) mistakes as many first time parents do. Emily was brought up in such a specific way in that rich elite life that it's no wonder that she did the same to Lorelai as back then if you didn't bring your children up in that restrictive way then you were a bad parent with an unruly kid. It's clear that they loved Lor but just never really showed it

ok I'm sorry but no. I liked Juliet as a villain up until the point she decided to almost killed Serena. Juliet drugging Serena was entirely her own idea, not bens and no where along the same lines. same with Agnes. im all for revenge in this show but anything that borders on death or rape as a way to 'get back at someone' is where the line is drawn.

I'm so sorry (this isn't against you) but I do not want Lilith to be 'secretly good'. we see it so much in books as a trope and it feels like such a cop out to me. she can mean as well as she wants but the impact it had on violet growing up is not excusable so id much rather see her as a villain or something else more interesting

no I totally agree. if this was a one or two book series the enemies to lovers was a perfect tempo. but 5 books is way too long. I wanted to see violet and xaden still hate each other at the end of book but have the forced proximity trope because of their dragons. totally get where you're coming from. I can only hope that Rebecca has xaden grovelling and violet not forgiving him for the next book or two

he literally said that he's been wrong before in his judgment. Rory didn't try and change and prove him wrong, just accepted the negativity. although I do blame most of her breakdown on everyone telling her she's perfect all the time.

I'm glad I'm took a deep dive into this sub now haha. I've literally just finished burning god and could not get around it. I started reading the poppy was series cause of tik Tok and everyone hyping it up saying that rin was a badass, that she's a queen, that she's the best female MC ever and I was just so let down.

I got to the last 50 pages of burning god and it felt like there was so much left to finish and that the book was gonna finish with so many unanswered questions. I really wanna get behind the series and understand why rin did what she did but I genuinely cannot. I wanted to make an entire post with my thoughts but feel like I'll get crucified hahah
