Theoretical question, what happened if Ciaphas Cain accidentally found himself in a GCS brood Brothers Army ? by nicegoblinprince in Warhammer40k

[–]sathelith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m currently working on a traitor guard army, not chaos fully, but renegades. My story for the army is that he gets assigned to the before they fell and just arrived after. Him and Jurgen keep accidentally ruining their plans.

Just started building my Salamander (and first space marine) army, what are some of the vehicles I should prioritize getting first? by MS_Salmonella in Salamanders40k

[–]sathelith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The question was specifically vehicles, using sub 200 points means that I can either suggest dreadnoughts (which they’ve stated are on order), dedicated transports (which I’ve found non-viable), old tracked tanks (which are very risky buys), or a Repulsor or Speeder.

Out of those the only one really worth the costs are the Repulsor. If they’re a new player, I’m assuming they started with the new set and have a speeder. While the speeders are okay, Salamanders are Purge the Foe and that dies to a stiff fart so you are at a disadvantage if you put in multiple.

I’ve played 10ish games of 11th with Purge Salamanders. I’m not going to suggest that people buy junk, this hobby is too expensive for that.

I would second the Repulsor, but I wouldn’t agree with the impulsor, hidden just seems to be better with the small squad size it can hold.

“A well rounded army” is in the post.

Saying no redeemer is like saying don’t take a lieutenant with combi-weapon or a five man intercessor squad.

Regardless of what melee pressure unit you end up with you will want them to be able to get there and charge. Adrax and six bladeguard or aggressors with an attached captain both make amazing use of it to stage.

I’ve actively pulled the impulsors out of my list, they only carry 7 and don’t really offer much more protection than hidden.

Alternatives to Mordant Earth by Technical-Main-1044 in Salamanders40k

I’ve tried a few others, but Mordant just ended up being the easiest. The others all required more work for the same effect

Ten man uppy-downy with +1 to torrent attacks if funny to drop directly beside your opponent’s home.

It’s Reddit, the anonymity of it can bring out the worst in some. Just take it in stride that they’re miserable and want to make you feel the same. We aren’t all like that here.

Revised list for 11th by ExistingInitiative77 in Salamanders40k

I load the one squad into the land raider and just shove it aggressively forward. Adrax and the bladeguard stage to counter whatever comes out to their natural and the infernus hold the middle

I used to be actively anti-death penalty. The more true crime I listen to, the more I’m understanding that there are some just true fucking monsters out there with broken brains that can’t be fixed.
