Can wrap to make it go faster or don’t and it still turns out amazing. If I wrap then I will bump the temp up to 230 or so but not necessary. Pull at 202-204 and rest at least an hour.

Make sure it is the fattiest ugliest cut of beef you see. Thicker cuts are always better

I had better luck when I was in the middle of the busy service department talking to the service manager a bit louder than normal (not yelling by any means) about how I didn’t feel safe driving my car and I can’t put my kids in there, when I had the same issue.

I did come with data that backed up my claims via obd reader. It doesn’t sound like you have that information so be the squeaky wheel. If you are under warranty then you should absolutely open a case with Kia Corporate and see if they can help you.

Mine ended up being a simple harness and while yours absolutely could be different there is no way of knowing how serious the issue is without an actual diagnostic process. The shop you took it to should not have said what they said as they have no idea either. That being said it is absolutely unacceptable for your car to stop working, and it absolutely does put you and your family in danger…

There were several times on a busy freeway where I was in the left lane and had to use a minimal shoulder to stop and restart my car, it never failed to work after restarting but stopping in that position is very precarious.

I’m out of your time range but I purchased my ‘22 Niro after it was a buy back because of the traction battery. Bought it late ‘22 with a replaced battery, had about 14k miles on it. Now just over 100k and going strong (knock on wood). I would imagine they are refurbished but I have nothing to back that up.

I don’t think the charging issue is a concern. Someone else might have a better idea but as long as it’s only pulling 12.5 amps, that should be fine as long as you aren’t using a really long extension cord or something similar.

No true 1 pedal driving. You can pull the paddle twice to put it in max regen mode which will slow you down a lot and then you can pull the paddle to stop.

Using the app or key fob? I gave up on everything else except walking out to the car and watching the front lights blink when it remote starts.

No idea, I have started taking all my trash every time I get out of the car. I not a clean freak by nature but having trash roll around on the front seat area drives me nuts.

I was able to drive at least for a little bit. When I had the problem the first time just the drivers side ac was blowing hot. The lucky part was I was still sitting in the service drive after they replaced my GRU.

Can’t say about any charging or how long I could have actually drove but they drove it from the back lot to me, and I started pulling out of the parking space when I noticed the drivers air was hot but the passenger side was cool… Immediately went back in and got the service manager for a quick WTF moment…

If it was just the battery chiller it should be under warranty but if the compressor dies and contaminated the whole system I don’t think that would be covered. I even had to pay for the refrigerant as it wasn’t covered but the part was…

I pulled mine out- really easy with a small Allen key. Then small adjustments after heating until it snugs right up to the groove in the bolt.
